She knows she is pretty, as she dances from flower to flower, never stopping to wave goodbye. They lead fascinating little lives, they do. Oh, how I envy her, never having to worry if beauty is in the eyes of the beholder or if it is enough to be a butterfly. She just is.

The gift of love
The gift of peace.
The gift of happiness.
May the joy continue to radiate in your lives,
Long after this post is gone, gone, gone.

I watched “Pretty in Pink” again last night. For like, the gazillionth time. In the movie, there are people who struggle with the labels they have been given/taken on for themselves. They fight with their own sense of honor and shame around wealth and poverty or about being alternative or "richies." Every little thing makes a difference. It matters where you live. It matters which door you walk out of at school. It seems so absurd on the surface, but if people are honest, these expectations, these barometers of honor and shame are real. In real life anyway. Like the movie, but different, right? There is a genius karaoke rendition of "Tenderness" by Otis Redding, offering another path and it shows how each character attempts to take that path in the end. Each tries a little compassion. It was a little bit fun extracting the message of the film. It's a reinterpretation of sorts.

Oh, yes. Anyone can be pretty in pink.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"

Oh stop! You dont ever have to envy a butterfly's beauty. You are plenty beautiful, inside and out. I have always wondered how those butterflies can fly so far, like across the country, when they bumble along and can not seem to make it across the street lol.

I do not believe I have ever seen that movie. It sounds like I would enjoy it though. Now I will have to see it to experience it!

Truth! You will have to see the movie and then you will know why I enjoy it. Oh, the grace of the butterfly is legendary. Ballets have been made of them. They are in a category all by themselves!

Yes and no. I do live my dreams, but, yes, there are times I put things off for a better season or another person that I am waiting to come with me. I try not to let too much time slide. That is why I have lived a little bit unusual in my lifetime.

Hehe! That was a known selfie at least. I left it and yes!! Only a couple of days left, so you know I have to get cracking! I am soooo behind, nobody is getting anything!! I probably won't be ready until December! Hehe!

I love morning March butterflies so what a great start to the post I am trying to remember Pretty in Oink I think I have seen it but nit sure the story line sounds so familiar I must check this evening
And miss Kitty is so cute and a better name than whAt I wanted to call our cat I suggested Nemo but was overruled and in the End I suggest Sefidi which is Persian fir white princess which did suit her

I agreed that butterflies are beautiful but I sure wish that they would be easier on me when I go to photograph them. It seems like the closer I get the further they become. Is it any wonder that I photograph flowers because they don't move anywhere?

Bet that you have seen Pretty in Pink. It's not a new movie as matter fact it's quite old but some of the references still kind of fit it in everyday way.

You wanted to name your cat Nemo? I would have overruled you in a New York Minute! LOL in the end I think that princess would fit most cats and they think they are Regal! Have a most wonderful day and I want to thank you for stopping in and saying hello!

I can relate Butterflies, Birds and such torment the heck out of me, sitting still till I get almost close enough for a shot and moving on, thats what I love taking shots of Sunrises or buildings they stay still :)

I did look up pretty in Pink, it came out in 86 and I am pretty sure I did see it I watched a couple of clips of it and it does look familiar :)

Of course i was joking ( kind of ) with Nemo, Sefidi which I came up with did suit her better i must admit :)

Thank you so much! Miss Kitty always had the most expressive eyes and I love them for traveling companions, especially in a motorhome. I wish you could have seen my first pet was a Dalmatian named Maggie and she did a lot of camping. I cannot even begin to tell you what a poor choice of pets I choose. I had no idea that she took that much energy to maintain but in the end I loved her to pieces.

If that butterfly was posing for me, it forgot to tell me!

For some reason the only thing I seem to be able to photograph or flowers and I think that's because they stand still. If I happen to get a butterfly or another animal it's a fluke! Thank you so very much and I hope you have a most wonderful Wednesday. I am so behind!

I didn't realize that Hallmark did the 'Christmas in July' promotion but I certainly have been inundated by the Dell 'Black Friday in July' promo :)

My brother goes to the Hallmark store on Black Friday every year to buy the Star Trek ornament for the year. He has the full set, it started when his boys were pretty little. Last year on the 4th of July these two 30 somethings were arguing who got which ornament in the will. My brother had crashed his brand new Star Trek themed Drone and his boys told him to be careful with his cool stuff :)

I cannot believe that you did not home know that Hallmark do the Christmas in July promotion. Can you think of anybody else in the world that would do it? It seems to be right up their alley. I will have to admit that most of the promotion that I see is on the Hallmark Channel, and not in the store but I haven't been to the store in a while. I can only assume that one would reflect the other. And yes! Some of the computer and other cyber jumped on the promo wagon because why not? If they can have 10 Black Friday's/ year, why not?

there are so many people that have collected the Hallmark ornaments year after year after year. I know that many of them have a high-value and although I have never understood this because most of them are a piece of plastic as we well know, it is the market to drives it and people love them. I am with you on that I think that the millennials are so funny with their often spoken about money that they will be inheriting or things! I can remember that if I was ever left anything in a will it was a big surprise to me and most of today's kids know that their life will be easier once we die. Oh my goodness how times have changed!

Yes yes. I took it off on a tangent myself, which is soooo normal for me, so I understand.

It seems everyone is talking about palnet i had one look at it and it seemed like you needed a university degree to get them the post when on for ages explaining about 100 different steps i gave up on it why do they have to make things so complicated and confusing i am a simply lame person...dame it...anyway will have another look at it , i wasn't in the mood for it that day to technical and haven't gone back to it but i will. Do you have a link were i should go and claim them or something. Thanks :)
