These days, I find almost every step of the way for all kinds of mushrooms. I know almost nothing about them, but I have always been fascinated by their appearance, long ago I learned that I can admire them from afar, ie. not to touch them. I've seen the species you see in the photos before, but I don't know their name or anything about them.
The abundance of rain causes the mushrooms to literally grow out overnight, mostly I see them around old stumps like in many other places. Don't get me wrong, I see mushrooms all year long, but autumn is a time when we seem to find them more common in nature.
I made the photos intentionally as black and white, I came to this idea by looking at the mushrooms from the photos, namely, their rim is completely black while the rest of their bodies are dark brown, so I thought it would be appropriate for the photos to be made in black - white goods. I already mentioned that I had seen them earlier in the year, but then their color was somehow much brighter, which is the reason for this change, I do not know, I can only speculate.
I'm fascinated by their shape as well as their overall appearance. During the time I spend in nature watching every single segment of a much wider picture, mushrooms are just one small part worthy of respect. It rarely happened to notice some increased activity of insects on almost any type of mushroom, I got the impression that insects avoided them for some reason. The only insect I noticed and managed to photograph on the mushrooms was Paederus which belong to the family of Staphylinidae. During some of my research on this insect, I learned that this insect is potentially harmful to humans because it causes rashes and skin irritation!
Of course, not all mushrooms are toxic or harmful to humans, there are numerous types that are edible and more than that, some of them are truly delicious culinary specialties. Personally, I would never dare to collect or prepare them on my own, because as I have repeatedly said, I know nothing about them!
