Delighted in solitude | Street photography at night

avatar

When I create street photographs, the main subject is of extreme importance in the overall scheme of things. At times I'll wait up to 30 minutes in the same spot hoping for the crowd to go by or for the perfect subject to enter the frame.

Someone's outfit, gesture, a look on the face can make an average photo great. Whenever possible, I prefer to isolate a single subject in the composition so a viewer has one thing to focus on. It might give a feeling of loneliness and isolation in a big city though. Here are some late night stories from the other day.

According to the Bible, Is it sin against God if a law enforcer is forced to take someone's life in the line of duty?

I really dig the moody feel of these photos. Feels like stills from a noir film.

Beautiful as always, love the intense pops of colors you have captured. I think 9 is my favorite in this set for some reason, but all tell a story. Well done.

Thank you, @justineh! Yeah the colors on 9 are very vibrating. I stood there for a while trying to find interesting, isolated subject.
