Sunflowers, macro photos, part 2

avatar

The biggest sunflower from my garden has bloomed this week! Also shot photos of the sunflowers from last post at a more mature stage.

I should have used something to indicate the scale, but instead imagine that the large sunflower is the size of a large banana.

The last one is very small and cute, and freshly opened.

I used Sony a77 camera and a Sigma 24mm f/1.8 macro lens.

Hey qwerrie, I've been taking a break from steemit and photography, these happen occasionally. But Autumn has arrived and with it amazing colours, so I'll no doubt get my camera out very soon.

I'm moved that you cared enough to write!

Peace and long life 🖖

Yes stress arrived with Autumn for me too, part of the reason for the steem break!

Glad you're doing fine.

I love old lenses, I'm eager to see what you'll do with the fisheye (if you haven't posted photos with it already?). I noticed you now have a tele-macro too, it works brilliantly for your mushroom pics.

oh, I obtained 150-mm since February
everything I do with Canon 5d, I have to capture with it (as my Tamron 60mm isnt compatible with full-frame. sadly).

i havent produced anything sufficient with fish eye yet. ofc, i will share the pics and will indicate it. it is intresting lens, not a great or superb one, just excellent low-coster analog or substitute for wide-angles, which are not cheap. this was less than $70 -- not bad, right? I know its rather have soft-focus on apertures less than 16, so... probably its for outdoors jobs only. will see. here are a few pics for you, how it works:

i think it will bring some fun being used for architecture shots. well, lets see..

I don't think soft focus is a problem! It's asthetically pleasant in some situations, especially when photographing humans (ie. the slight softness of your photos of your daugthers are pretty in a slightly old-school way). Modern lenses are sometimes too sharp for their own good.

Much cheaper too than modern lenses indeed ^^

well, can be, assuming doing portraits. but i have to figure out yet. probably i intended it for sort of 'reportage' in dark small rooms, and at the outdoors squares / landscapes and distorted architecture follies.. will see!
just used to love technically perfect, sharp images.
