Soft Fork v0.22.2 and Columbia River George

Wow Soft Fork v0.22.2 !!! Been a big month on steem; not sure how to take it at the moment. On the surface it looks like highway robbery; however all is fair in love and war, and if the witnesses really believed that the chain itself was under threat then this is delegated proof of stake working at its finest and it is its interesting to watch it unfold. I hope they can come to a middle ground as I am still excited at the prospects of the Tron marketing team taking this blockchain to broader audience and more exchange listings. The beauty is we all get to watch this chess game unfold on the blockchain. Time will tell if our investments financially and time wise into steem (of which I have heavily invested both) have been worth it ;-)

On a different note I took this shot not long before fires raged through Columbia River George in 2017. It’s hard to imagine the normally wet george, which holds North America’s largest concentration of waterfalls (including 77 that are officially named) actually burning. The blaze was started by a 15 year old boy with some fireworks. It’s was easy to blame the boy; but in reality we need to look at the causes behind the increasingly regularity of these abnormal fire conditions. 2017 was a nightmare fire season right across BC and Alberta in Canada and throughout the US Pacific North West. In BC it was by far the worst on record in terms of hectares burnt along with scores of long standing all time temperature records were smashed in consecutive summers. It is only the wet micro climates of these side gullies protect some of the more fragile parts of what is often considered Oregon’s crown jewel. Last light at Wahkeena Falls, Columbia River Gorge, Oregon, USA. One just has to look at the extent of the fires in Australia this year show the direction this is going in globally.
