Horrendously Gorgeous!

Hey everyone, check this horrendously gorgeous pitch black mole cricket with a tinge of yellow on his back! This guy was doing the proverbial 'chill session' with many other insects on what happens to currently be my favourite and multi-use Perennial Basil plant.

I generally observe massive bee activity on these flowers and once in a while a strange visitor such as this chap pops in for a visit. This plant truly is one of the most spectacularly useful plants for insects, everything from Moth's, Bees, Butterflies, Crickets and more share her nutritious nectar, sadly I think this mole cricket may have had a more nefarious agenda? One thing is for certain whether this chap has plants to nibble on my basil or not? I certainly use it in my cooking regularly and it really is tasty and highly nutritious a herb!

Upon doing a little research on Wikipedia it would seem this is not a mole cricket ...

Horrendously Gorgeous, or ??

What struck this chap as so spectacular to me was the fact that he was so dark with these yellow spots on his back, as per the above wikipedia post they are generally a lighter brown without these yellow spots, not sand, actually permanent body markings, an extraordinary contrast!

Sure I am a bit of a nature freak, oh who am I trying to kid I am a total nature lover extraordinaire and I do feel that we really need to do what we can even in just the smallest possible way, to preserve this precious natural world, 'horrendously gorgeous' or not, they all play vital roles in our ecosystem and greater good and life on Earth.

I trust you all have a magnificent weekend.

Go Team South Africa and go Bloody BITCOIN go ;)

Cheer$;)
