A Spooktacular Contest: Top 3 PHC Scared for October! My Nominees!

And you were wondering about a witch being afraid? Well, if hahaha there are things I've been really afraid of, especially when I used to go out with my friends and found my cell phone in my wallet at 3:00 am with 10 missed calls from my mom, the infinite terror I used to get home after that doesn't compare to many things hahaha. But seriously, I've grown up surrounded by spooky situations, some wouldn't believe it, but I've seen some people literally possessed floating, that's pretty scary. I still remember when we arrived at this house when we heard horse footsteps in one of the empty rooms, telling them this makes my hair stand on end.

I grew up loving horror movies, although I watched them on the sly because my parents don't like them, I had the opportunity to watch them without having to hide, and I felt a particular attraction for all those movies based on real events, I think that's where the real terror is, that other people have felt in the flesh, I like to know those stories. I remember when I first saw Emily Rose's Exorcism in 2005, many of the things that were explained there then tormented me a little. So since then I don't usually watch horror movies. Although like every witch I love these dates.

This is my entry into this month's PHC Top 3 contest.

This months topic is Scary Characters

My Nominations are:

Nomination Number One

The Creeper - Jeeper Creepers

My Reasons for the Nomination

Nothing but remembering the soundtrack of this movie gives me some shiver, thanks to this demon, the roads alone in the plains give me some fear, see a scarecrow step from being something funny to being something I have to be careful hahaha, after all we never know what kind of crazy we can find in the big fields of wheat and corn, Just imagine me in a situation like the one that passed the guys in this movie I bristle the skin.

Nomination Number Two

Samara Morgan - The Ring

My Reasons for the Nomination

I remember going to the movies in 2002 with my college roommate, one Monday at the last performance of that day, I think we came in at 9:00 pm or something like that and we went out almost at midnight, I also remember that the movie did not cause us real fear, we went home and after talking a while before going to sleep we checked that the lights were off and everything in order in the kitchen, there was a small old TV that never turned on because it had no cable TV connection, and in the room we heard that the TV had been turned on just as it happened in the movie, just lacked the old phone ringing in the living room at 12 o'clock:00 at night, and guess what happened, the phone rang, was a friend who warned that she had come home, you can imagine the scare we took that night, thinking that from that small television would leave that little girl terrified to take us to the beyond. I still remember it and it's like it was last night.

Nomination Number Three

Lubdan - Leprechaun

Source

My Reasons for the Nomination

For many considered a horror comedy, or terror with comedy, I would not know how to tell you, the truth of the matter is that by the time this movie came out in 1993, I was barely 10 years old, and to see a cursed elf like this, after spending years imagining an all-loving elf, was a pretty strong contrast, the truth is that now that I think if I would have given some laughter to see that movie with the age I have today. But to see that elf killing people for completing their gold coins at the age of 10 was really scary, all this I saw hidden from my parents, which made it doubly earthy.

Awesome choices! The Ring scared the crap out of me. I definitely didn't look at the tv the same way for a while, haha. Or little girls with really long dark hair! I remember Jeepers Creepers and the Leprechaun, too. The last one is definitely a little silly now, but at the time it was still creepy. Even without all the CGI they have now, it's amazing how scary some of those older movies could be!

hahaha I'm so sorry, this was the first one that came to mind, because it's true when I say that after seeing her I didn't see the long roads alone in the same way hahaha

These look like some great choices. Jennifer Aniston looks like a child in the Leprechaun, lol! Good luck in the contest!

Thanks for these awesome suggestions for our contest this month! We've given you an upvote and logged your nominations, ready for the dpoll - keep an eye on our blog for the dpoll post!

Set your post payout to 50/50. You keep the SP and then transfer the STEEM and/or SBD (whichever is paid out at the time) to @phctop3 with a link to your blog post entry in the transfer memo. This is the minimum entry fee, but you can add as much as you like to it! The more you add, the more you can win. There is no maximum entry fee.

Not sure how to find your post payout? Look in your Steem Wallet under Author Rewards to find the exact payout for your post. In the example below you would send the 0.014 SBD and 6.587 STEEM over to the @phctop3 account as your entry fee. We’ll take it from there and convert all of the prize pool to SBD for easy prize distribution at the end of the month!

Hey @fmbs25

The Ring scared me senseless. The girl is horrific and that vivid imagery stay in my head for weeks. The other thing that gets me and was used in the Ring is thinking you have seen something but you're not sure. When the girl is checking out the video and she catches something in the corner of her eye at the edge of the footage! The music/score adds to the tension of that scene as well.

I haven't seen the other two but they look pretty gruesome.

Nice job.

Oh my God the first two made my heart race as I remember not being able to watch those two films to the end. Think I walked out of the Ring actually... Hell no! 🤣

Great choices here, damn! Thank goodness I read this in day time at work otherwise I won't be sleeping for a long time haha!
