This is my entry into this month’s PHC Top 3 contest.

This month's topic is Board Games.

sorry.jpg

NoNominationMy Reasons for the Nomination
1SORRY!This is not only a "look back" - it’s still a family favorite. We just played this on the 4th at our cookout. It’s the game of Revenge and the play gets heated as alliances form, even though it’s every man for himself. You should hear the begging and whining going on when someone uses their SORRY card to send an opponent back to Start!
2SequenceSequence is a game of master strategy for up to 12 players, though I’ve never played with more than 6. It’s just as enjoyable with only 2 people. Unless one of them is my mom because she always ends up with more than her fair of Wild Jacks to keep messing up my Sequence!
3RummikubAlthough this may not be technically a “board” game, it does come in a box with various shiny little pieces. Each player draws tiles and tries to be the first one to use all their tiles by making runs or sets with the tiles. The extra added thing is that you can manipulate the tiles already played and recombine them. It’s a deep thinking game as well, not for the faint of heart!!

And as an added bonus I'd like to challenge @felt.buzz to enter this contest! I hope everyone has some fond memories of family game night. I'm afraid it's becoming a thing of the past where families can actually put their electronics down and just have some conversation and face to face fun.

Excellent choices, @blueeyes8960 - in fact, Sorry was on my short list, so we almost had a game in common! And I agree - while we do get family movie/tv nights in, it's been far too long since we've all played a board game together. It's such an awesome way to create wonderful memories!

Remember to transfer 50% of the post payout as SBD to @phctop3 with a link to your entry in the memo, otherwise it won't be eligible. This is the minimum entry fee, there is no maximum. You can add as much as you like to your initial fee to give you bigger potential rewards.

Hey hey thanks for joining the party this month! I had never heard of "Sorry" before and I think it needs to update it's name to #sorrynotsorry judging by the way you described it! Seems you can set people up for ultimate board game karma haha!

Sequence is a new one to me - it does sound like it's fit for a powerhousecreative where there's tactics and a whole load of thinking going on. Maybe your mum has a few extra wild jacks up her sleeve that you didn't know about :D

I have played Rummikub once when I visited my friends in Texas but their 14 year old genius kid took centre stage and destroyed us. Nice variation of rummy!

Thanks for entering this month, just updated our spreadsheet now with your entries and hopefully we can entice @felt.buzz in too :)

Another killer entry this month! Love to see all these fun games and memories going around. Sorry is definitely a classic that I remember playing as a kid, but haven't seen in far too long. I have actually not ever played Sequence before, though it's another one that looks like it would be fun to try! I only recently played Rummikub with my boyfriend's family. It is definitely fun once you figure out how to manipulate the pieces. A great thinking game for sure. His cousin is quite good, but to be fair I think she has the most experience playing. It does remind me of playing 500 rummy with cards all the time with my grandmother when she was still with us, so it brings out great memories! Good luck with these awesome choices! It can be anyone's "game" this month!

Thanks for entering the contest! These look like really fun games and although the first two are new to me, can imagine them providing hours of entertainment!

Rummikub is a cool variation of rummy! Need to get round to playing it again if anyone around my area dares to challenge me 😈

Great choices, @blueeyes8960! I actually have not played Rummikub, although I think we have it. You've inspired me to get it out and make someone play with me. :-)

Great games! Especially sequence, I played that a lot with my parents.

Reading all these entries really makes me want to take out the games with my dad. He's working lots lately, I just have to be patient 😁
