Latte Clay Sculpture
In case no one knows yet, I love coffee. I love iced coffee, I love flat white, I love cappuccino, I love anything that has a caffeine in it. Anyway, this part had been inspired by latte foam sculpture. I wanted to do more than this but I'll do that when I have more time.
To begin with, I made the "milk." Its the same thing that I did previously with the icing but this time, I used a white clay and added water. Just a side note, I am using air clay and most of them are water soluble so, I use water A LOT. Please read the label in your clay in case it needed other solutions like acrylic or baby oil.
Just add a bit of a clay and water and stir.
Until you have something that looks like this
Set aside.
Let's start making the mug.
I do not have any round mold. I usually improvise with whatever is available. Today, I used the back of an icing pipe.
Set aside. This will serve as the bottom of your mug. Roll another batch of pink clay.
Cut. You can use a small knife/cutter but, as I have been saying before, I love using tiny scissors.
Start making your mug.
When you're done, you'll have something that looks like this.
Blend in the "edges." I intentionally did not blend mine because it makes my mug look so organic and, I love that.
Let's make the handle.
Let's make a simple ornament:
Cut.

Pinch the "bottom" part.
Attach to the "mug."
Tada!
Check your mug. If its cured, then add the "milk" inside.
Fill until 3/4. I prefer to put my design inside first before adding the "milk." because it finishes off the look. Besides, its a great way to hide any mistakes.
For the bear, start with this
Do not make a mistake of pushing it on the mug. Just gently place it above the milk and, it will voluntarily sink in on its own.
For the arms, start with this
Add the details
This is what I did today.....
Final look
I would have added more detail on the bear to get that "bubbly" effect but, at this point, I am happy with what I got. So, here he is!
Happy New Year everyone!
