Another High Court Bans Animal Sacrifices in an Indian State

I was just wondering how much do people actually honour Court's orders these days ...esp. when it's from a High Court (the highest authority at State level).

In the beginning of this month we saw the religious slaughter of hundreds of thousands of animals at Gadhimai Festival just about 100 miles away from Nepal capital. This was against the will of Supreme Courts of Nepal as well as India (Refer my post on it here).

About a couple of months before Gadhimai festival, Tripura High Court ...in a neighbouring State on Indian side of the border, passed an order to ban all religious animal sacrifice in the State. But do people fear Courts? To ensure the compliance of its orders, High Court judges even ordered the administration to install CCTV cameras in Devi Tripureswari temple and Chaturdas Devata temple - the two largest Hindu temples of the Tripurs State where animal sacrifices take place. Not only this, according to this news, High Court also ordered the Chief Secretary of the State to obtain soft copies of CCTV footage on a regular basis. But I still doubt if all these implementations by force actually make an impact.

If I see the past incidences, many such orders were challenged in the Supreme Courts later!

Do we really need a reason to kill someone? 😇🤔
