It's Cold in Pennsylvania!

We are holed up for winter here and it's quite cold so I'm not much for getting out to enjoy the fresh air much but I did brave the cold to clean my cockatiel, Sam's cage this morning. I've been putting it off because of migraines.

We got a little snow and it was so windy I couldn't get the old paper bedding to burn. I always feel better cleaning his cage and it takes just a few minutes so now he's cozy in his clean cage.

Later this afternoon we went out again to pick up groceries and I picked up a cuttlebone for him. Cuttlebones are good for bird's beaks and add some minerals to his diet.

Between vacuuming the house to rid it of collected cat hair and shopping I somehow pulled my hip muscles. I tried heat from a microwave pack, a half of a muscle relaxer and Biofreeze but the muscle keeps spasming. This hip has been such a challenge. Surgery was over a year ago but despite physical therapy twice last year I keep ending up with a tight, painful hip every time I turn around.

February we are heading for our Arizona/Las Vegas trip and I worry the hip is going to be an issue. I so am dying for some warmer temps than 20-40 degrees so wish me luck!

I so am dying for some warmer temps than 20-40 degrees so wish me luck!

20 °F is -6.66 °C. The temperature is currently -1 °C (30.2 °F) where I live (Szolnok, Hungary). Even -4°C (24.8 °F) is cold for me. My fingers and my hands hurts, when I get back into the house from outside. But some people say that the temperature will be around around -20 °C (-4 °F) and -25 °C (-13 °F) this winter. If that will be true, then that will hurt more. So, I would like to wish good luck, both for you and for everyone else, who can't stand the cold temperatures.

Oh my! I have no room to complain with your temps so much colder! I have low circulation in my hands and feet and I'd never go out in that weather! Stay warm!

I hope the heat helps you, @wandrnrose7. Chronic pain is so hard to deal with. Prayers for a good trip.

The heat does help, thank you for your kind words. I feel a bit better today. I forgot I did about 20 squats yesterday thinking to strengthen my hip some and I do believe I just overdid yesterday. Rest helps and although I worked today it was a low call volume day since it's Martin Luther King Day.
