What's Up With The Dood - September

avatar

I can't believe summer is pretty much over. The days are already getting cooler here in western New York state and the night air has been downright cold at times!

I'm really going to miss the summer. With Covid and all it's related drama I didn't really get out to do much. I'm hoping to get out this fall and get some pictures of the changing foliage. I really need an excuse to get out and put some miles on the motorcycle! I'm hoping to charge up the camera battery and get out on the rode and get some pictures soon. As soon as the summer leaves begin to turn orange and red :)

I don't know why, but I'm really looking forward to fall this year and the change of seasons. I honestly think I'm just happy 2020 is almost over. This year can't end soon enough. I had such high hopes for the new decade and it really started as such a disappointment. I think I'm hoping the Autumnal equinox will bring about the death of this year and usher in the rebirth of 2021 and some much needed new energy!

Now I'd like to introduce you to the latest member of our family. This is Baby! I wanted to name her Crypto but the entire family was dead set against it. She's absolutely adorable and has stolen the hearts of the entire family but the cute little bugger tends to crap all over the house. I really can't wait till she's potty trained. Little stinker! As you can see from the picture I need a new carpet anyway so it's not a big deal, and as soon as she figures out what she's supposed to use the puppy pads or go outside I'll just get a new carpet. We need it anyway!

I've got some pretty exciting announcements for September. On September 15th I'll be helping with the 500 Hive giveaway during the Hive Chat on Twitter. I'll be helping to give out tips for good comments during the Hive Chat. You can find out more details about the giveaway here.

I'll also be hosting a Hive chat on September 29th. I believe we settled on 4 PM GMT which is 12 PM Dood Time here in NY. If it changes, I'll post an update here, but I'm pretty sure everyone is good with that time. If anyone has any suggestions to ask the Hive community feel free to post them in the comments for consideration.

With that said, I'm really happy to see the HIVE community grow and become a welcome addition to the Crypto Twitter community. I think it has been a huge plus for both communities. The crypto community is starting to take notice and it's great to see everyone networking and working together!

The other reason I'm really excited about this fall is I'm getting myself back into work mode. I've got a few projects I'm working on. I'm also looking to start promoting some of my freelance work more. I've also been considering looking for a part time job. Trading has been paying the bills but I really feel like I'm living on my nerve. I'd like the security of having a weekly paycheck coming in. Worst case scenario I work through the winter, add to my sat stack, and I'd really like a new motorcycle next summer. I'm hoping with sales down, I can find a nice deal on a new bike and consider that cross country trip I've been wanting to take. At 52 years old if I don't take it soon, it's just not going to happen. I'm already questioning whether or not it's feasible health wise. My guess is I get on the bike and start riding, and everything will just fall into place like it usually does. Once I get out on the open rode those aches and pains tend to melt away! For this reason though, I need a more comfortable bike!

Well that's it for September updates. I'm looking forward to the Hive Chat's over the next couple weeks. I've been playing a lot of Splinterlands and RisingStar, also playing a lot of guitar. Really happy I decided to get back into guitar playing. I'll start posting more on that topic real soon.

The Hive Chat thing seems to be going well. I've been roped in for giving out tips next week too. It will be interesting to see what your others followers think when you run it as you have a lot. Do people express much interest in Hive? Some will be wondering about that Steem think you used to mention ;)

Hope you can do your bike tours some time soon. This pandemic can't last forever.

I think the Hive Chats are going pretty well too. I seen you were added to the group for Hive Chat tips. That should be fun. I think I have to get up early here though, at least early for me! I think there's a lot of buzz happening about Hive now. I've talked to a couple people that say they're going to get signed up when time permits. I'm also happy to see that the sign up has really been simplified too. Select a username, copy your private keys, set up your login preferences and verify a phone number text message. Doesn't get that much more straight forward. Steemit was brutal with the whole signup thing.

I agree, I don't think this pandemic can last forever either. Like the rest of us, I'm watching and waiting to see what this flu season brings.

yeah no problem! I prefer non-video activities, and i know a lot of people are like me so HiveChat is a great option! I am surprised that more crypto twitter peeps don't do this....since one doesn't have to show one's face.

Baby is a wicked cutie! She reminds me of my parent's dog Fritz Carleton, who was a Shih Tzu, and was a total love bug.

And stop talking like 52 is old! Hubby & I are still holding out hope that we can manage a similar cross country trip (although in a camper with his motorcycle being towed behind), and since I just turned 55, and he's coming up on 59 in a few months.... yeah, 52 is young! 😂

See you for the HiveChat craziness awesomeness this week, and looking forward to your turn in the host seat!

Thanks, Baby has stolen our hearts. She is just to cute for words! Shih Tzu's are fun too. They are extremely loving dogs.

Just saying with the age thing, I'm starting to feel my age 😆 It's been a long strange trip!

See you in HiveChat in the morning. Can't believe I'm setting the alarm for 7:30 AM 2 days in a row! Cheers
