শান্তি তুল্য তপস্যা নাই জানে সব মনস্বী।
তাহে যে প্রচেষ্টা করে সেই বড় তপস্বী।
অসন্তোষ দুঃখদায়ক আর সুখে সন্তুষ্ট।
তৃষ্ণা তুল্য ব্যাধি নাই দয়াধর্মই শ্রেষ্ঠ।
বঙ্গানুবাদ: শান্তির ন্যায় তপস্যা নাই। অতএব শান্তির জন্য যারা সবরকম ভাবে প্রচেষ্টা করেন , তারাই তপস্যায় নিযুক্ত। অসন্তুষ্টি দুঃখদায়ক , আর সন্তুষ্টি ভীষণ সুখদায়ক। তৃষ্না (কামতৃষ্ণা , বিষয়তৃষ্ণা প্রভৃতি) বিষম রোগ। এর তুল্য ব্যাধি নাই। ধর্মের মূল বিষয় দয়া। সুতরাং দয়াধর্ম মহাধর্ম।
