Three Years on the Blockchain
My third anniversary on the STEEM blockchain has recently passed. It has been interesting watching the STEEM experiment grow and evolve over that time.
It took me over a year to shake my stalker status and actually post something! That first post can be largely attributed to the proddings of @lyndsaybowes. Thanks for providing the needed kick in my digital pants, Lynds!
It was not long after that first post that the process of leaving corporate social media began. My Facebook account usage was toned down to the point of simply posting the links to my STEEM post on Facebook, until finally deleting my Facebook account all together last year.
My feeling is that my contribution to the STEEM project is less likely to be in the creation of posted content as it will be in some form of software development. With a plan for a dApp in mind, and a new laptop with python3 and the steem-python library installed, that software contribution may be achieved sooner rather than later.
Steem On!!!
Happy Steemiversary, I'm so happy you are here, and still kickin' ass <3 <3 <3 WOOT!
Digital pants kicker!
Thanks Lyndsay! 😎
Congrats mate! :)

Thank you my friend!
Oooooo I'm super curious about your dapp! Any hints? :D
Happy Steemiversary!
Thankey you. 😎
My hope is to run it from a Community when they get here (HF22 maybe?). Otherwise it might lead to me being tarred and feathered off The Chain.
Did that help? 😆
NO now I'm just MORE curious! LOL. It's pretty hard to get tarred and feathered here! XD
That was my fear. 😎
LOL
Congratulations on your third anniversary. That is awesome!
Thanks, Beth!
Congrats and keep us posted on the new development. I started to learn python, installed the needed stuff and started tutorial and practice them gave up to the million others things falling on my head from everywhere. It's fun to work with and to see the fruit of your work there.

Yeah, libraries like steem-python certainly do the heavy lifting. Hoping to Open Source any success that may be had along the way. 👍😎
Congratulations @novacadian! You have completed the following achievement on the Steem blockchain and have been rewarded with new badge(s) :

Good job leaving FB. I'm banned now permanently (for criticizing censorship). MediKatie is working on leaving. We have to wind down a lot of projects, pages, groups, photo albums, and other uploaded content. We've been busy there for a while. But yeah, it's not a good place. Not at all.
It has been a genuine releaf leaving; though my engagement there was totaĺly for social reasons. It's understandable that you would want to get your traffic redirected first.
BTW, just watched your BC Bud video. Some sweet looking product! 👍😎
My warmest congratulations your huge milestone in steem journey.

Thanks very much, @madushanka!
I never used Facebook that much... The only service I use is messenger. I unfortunately cannot shake that one easily. Our class has a group on there and I just need it to function in school.
I have not logged in to Facebook in around 6 months, and when I did it was to vote on something for a friend.
I respect the idea of leaving Facebook :)
Good luck steeming in the future

Although first registered on Facebook in 2009, it wasn't until my country's federal election in 2015 that found me active on a daily basis. It must be much harder for many people to leave the platform and their contacts behind than it was for me.
Awesome, congratulations on three years strong and I’m super excited to see what you produce for a dapp - be sure to let me know when it launches 🚀 !COFFEEA

Thanks @c0ff33a. Hoping to keep everything out in the open source. 😎
wonder why you deleted me after I voted the hell out of all of your posts and followed your bike all around town. just because I said someone was my friend. really.?? how grown up
Sorry, Marion, but following over a thousand accounts compared to your 15 makes things a little fuzzier to remember those details. My apologies if any action of mine offended you.
I had over 200 on my account. Decided to get rid of almost everyone. Stop posting for months and now I am starting fresh. Sometimes less is more.
So right you are!
Tribes has been a help, for me, to focus a little at different points on my follow list. PalNet.io is one of my favs. Folks like Lyndsay and Pheonixwren are easier for me to find there, for example. On my feed on steemit many get lost.
Being a very low producing content creator (only recently has my 100th post been posted in three years) the larger follow list helps in spreading curation. Others' approach may be to focus instead on a smaller number of those on their personal feed; as may be the case with you.
I found that some of my old followers were getting stale. Only resteeming. Only engaging now and then. They had become either busy or bored. I plan on getting the list going somewhere, come the chillier months. You may however, if you have time explain PalNet to me.
As you may know, steem-engine.com allows one to create crypto tokens of their own. Some are just for fun like Drama coin or Beer coin, yet they also have an option to offer a team associated with it. A team is basically running a Condenser portal like steemit.com, yet with its own speciality. Such teams only display posts which have their name in the tag of a post. There is a sport team that only wants posts about sports and another that only discusses crypto topics (leo if memory serves). One very special aspect of PalNet is that flags are not considered when displaying posts. So Bernie et al have no influence there.
When you upvote a post on a Team Site one not only receives STEEM rewards but also the coin of that Team. On PalNet one receives PAL. One can power up their Team Tokens just like one does with SPs. So the more PAL one has powered up then the more PAL stake one would have (the same with all teams) and one's vote would give more Team Token rewards; as is the case with STEEM itself.
Hope that explains things a bit.
lol. Thank you ...I think. wow. that is a lot of story. Which is all I ever really wanted to do from the start, was just write stuff. I did for quite a while. Got really disillusioned with it all. Had some bad stuff happen. ie. Bernie etc. so I decided to come back. I have not written anything yet. I can not find another place that seems easy to post blogs...yet. But I may just give the PalNet a try, for what its worth. I am not that up on all that crypto stuff. I leave that up to peeps like you. lol. Thank you. :)))
One correction. They call them Tribes not Teams. 😎
P.S. You can find them at palnet.io
Thank you for all this :)))
Your welcome. Hope to see you on PalNet!
just thought it odd, since I never did you any harm. Or caused you an issue. the weird thing about Steemit however is that you can not really get rid of anyone. I think maybe that is what bugs me. If you delete me so what. I never said anything. But I see you all over the place on people I talk to. For some reason that bothered me. FYI ..its 11 not 15. lol. Like I said I am starting over.
Congrats on your 3 yr. Steem Anniversary!
Thanks @redheadpei! 😎
