Novacadian's Nova Scotia Biking Tour - In Training

By covering for my brother, with our caregiving for our 95 year old mother, there are now 8 full days that are open for me to ask in return this summer.

The plan is to use the days for a multi-day tour along the South Shore of Nova Scotia, following a trail built upon the route of the old railway line. Some of it was explored last year when travelling to an industrial park on the edge of my city.

So you could say, over the last 3 days, that training has begun towards the stamina needed for a full day of biking.

The first day had a lot of chores mixed in with the traditional ride to Point Pleasant Park at the south end of the peninsula of old Halifax.

The sky was particularly old school; pre-chem trail-ish.

A trip downtown is not complete without a cut through of the Camp Hill Cemetery.

Was pleasantly surprised to find the Sea Sheperd Conservation Society had one of their activist vessels in port.

The rides became more focused as the chore list got checked off. Today was straight to the park and back with a stop for breakfast going out and blue bag pick up heading home.

Although wonderfully quiet and peaceful, the sky at the park seemed more chem trail-ish today.

Our lovely blooming raspberry bush welcomed me home with s request to be photographed. 😎

My guess is that 45kms have been put in over the last three days; which is coincidentally the distance to Hackett's Cove from my place. 😎
