Palnet is just so bloody nice!! The psychological effect of balance from the 50/50 split......

For me personally, the whole dynamic of Steemit has changed with the introduction of palnet.io . Suddenly it has gone from a marketplace where is everyone is trying to sell something and reverted back to a community where people share.

I didn't deliberately join up to buy or sell, but in reality, that is exactly what we are doing on Steem whether we like it or not and the connotations of everything being a transaction of value taint the platform in my opinion.

Palnet, whether by accident or design, is different. The 50/50 creator - curator reward model immediately changes the blockchain from a place of commerce to a sharing community. It's as if balance has been brought to proceedings. From a practical standpoint, I keep getting nice little Palcoin rewards for my upvotes and comments, and not just 0.001 SP either!! People who are posting on Palnet directly are the ones I like to read, I'm finding the content more sincere, less cynical than the 'just post for cash' brigade. It means I don't have to listen to people claiming to be 'creators' or 'curators' like some demented tribal blockchain game of one-upmanship. Users are just people, its more social media than Medium and I feel that being a predominantly reader and commenter is OK! There is no pressure to come up with some brilliant piece of 'content'.

Perhaps some of the genuine 'niceness' of the team behind Palnet envelops itself in the fabric of the platform too.

It feels like people are sharing rather than selling, and that makes it feel bloody nice!

Yes, I find my self trying to do that too and also adjusting my 'following' list to those who use Palnet AND don't post about Steem every day! I am so bored with all the Steem posts hence I enjoying more of the 'real' content that seems to come through Palnet.
