For What It's Worth- Original song by Subculture on Circle of Death Records πŸ’€

This artwork started as a photo I took at the summit of Tikaboo Peak in Nevada. Brad Durrant, bassist for Subculture, did his magic with said photo and turned it into this trippy work of art. It was decided it would be a great art piece for the 8th and final song from this album.

The artwork displays perfectly what was on my mind when I wrote the lyrics. We have a nation, divided, with each side thinking their side has some moral authority to stand on. When they are both the same in reality. The creepy looking creatures underneath the flags remind me that the earth is sacred and really doesnt need us to survive. And the opposing red sky in the background looks wild enough to make me remember how beautiful this world is. Yin & Yang, Dark & Light, Sorrow & Happiness. In the words of Jim Morrison & the Doors: "No one here gets out alive". So why dont you take it for what its worth 🀘

Lyrics

Lend me an ear if you please
We're afflicted by the same disease
Time to break down the barriers and do away with the norm

Rolling with the tide and changing times
Like leading a blind man to sight
Desperate measures to save this planet earth
Why dont you take it for what its worth?

Have you seen the latest numbers?
The death count has tripled
You missed it
It just passed you by
Did you care or notice?

The establishment they seek to mould you
How they tried to rape my youth
Seems another victim has been claimed
By mistaken identity

And the rising sentiment suggests mass genocide
Genocide
You cant hide

Innocent people die
Dreams shattered
Blood splatters
Does it matter?

Look beyond and you may find it's not what its cracked up to be
Yearning for piece of mind in these washed up lonely times

Rolling with the tide and changing times
Like leading a blind man to sight
So much beauty in this world
Why dont you take it for what its Worth!

So for now, this is the last of the old Subculture. Its been fun reconnecting with the other guys in the band to get these 8 songs a proper release. Im sure it has sparked some new ideas and renewed old interests. I know it has for me. To be continued......

Special thanks and gratitude to @lk666 for making this possible and being a super cool human and great friend 🀘

Super thanks to @davidfar for helping me along the way 🀘

But wait....someone is missing.... GLEN WIGGINS! Lead guitar for Subculture on these recordings, and my choice for MVP!!! DUDE WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU? If anyone knows a dude named Glen that is a phenomenal guitar player, probably wears glasses and smokes a lot of weed.....ask him if he was ever in a metal band called Subculture and if so, direct him here!
