Deranged Photography Contest - Wildlife Theme

It's very cool to see this great photography contest running again!

This is a bald eagle I saw near the ocean. It had just scooped a crab off the beach and was flying away with it - look closely and you can see the crab clutched in the eagle's talons. Please click for a full-screen view.

I would estimate this is a three-year-old bird. The small white spots on its wings indicate that it is not yet a fully mature adult - perhaps more like a human teenager in relative years. The scientific name for the bald eagle is (Haliaeetus leucocephalus).
