What will be of stolen steems?

avatar

Dear friends

in these days my attention has been taken by a dice game named Epicdice.

They have a service same like it was @magicdice but their coins are on steem-engine.

So as curiosity i went to @magicdice page and i discover that not all steem are gone, something like 7,350 are still on this account after powering down, so what will be about them?

Steem authority cannot take out these coins are redistribute to who have lost coins believing them?

I think that some action, even is against of blockchain etic, must be taken to show off to users that who want stolen money have to pay back it.

Who is saying that do something is impossible, is the same person who complaint why Steemit is going down, but the reasons are people are tired to loose money!!

Who want invest need to see some safe organization, so if one person coming from outside and see that this organization cannot do anything to save their money invested, so how we can see steem to the moon???

Around a month ago i resteem this post:
https://steemit.com/steem/@therealwolf/steem-steem-steeeeeeeem

This was made by one of the most influencer person in Steemit and he say HF21 was done to give to investor the safe about no shit can come out, so what you can say to same investors if you cannot do anything against scammers???

I doubt if that would be possible since it's a decentralised platform.

Not true. It's completely possible, but pretty unlikely as it would take the top witnesses to do this and it would then erase all trust in the blockchain. It's not that blockchains can't be manipulated, it's just harder as all the block producers needed to have consensus and it's out in the open for the world to see.

Nothing will happen, nor should it. If the witnesses were to make a consensus and take these coins away from MD it would crush the trust in STEEM as a whole and everyone would loose. If they did this or take coins from anyone else (like the idea that was floated about taking from STINC) I would instantly power down everything and never look back. Because if they do it once for reasons they feel are legit what is to stop them next time they feel it's a "legit" reason...and who is to say what is a legitimate reason to take coins from a wallet?

Dear @pifc, i do not know if some of these Stolen coins are yours, but It not seems so.
I understand that blockchain Is Freedom, but Freedom Is based on respect of the others, so It not means that everyone in this Place Is free to fuck the others Just because blockchain Is Freedom.
Anyway i know that nothing Will happens because Steemit changes are made only to keep whales free to fuck all of us believiers that this Place Is and investment.
Right now i put over 1000 USD here and my account value Is still 100 USD....

I lost too on my personal account so seeing the money there sounds tempting to me too, but I understand the issue of what that would do to the image of steem as a whole. PIFC doesn't do any of the gambling sites as it's a community site so it doesn't have any stake in that money, but when I'm answering things like your post know it's my personal opinion. What I lost on MD I have written off and moved on. Oh and I have invested far more then $1k USD so trust me I feel your pain on that one.

I do not think it is possible to reclaim those steem from magicdice. Maybe they forgot about them when they left. I hope epicdice is more responsible and trustworthy, but I really do not know. A lot of people gamble in there, though. I hope they know what they are doing!

@intellihandling, In my opinion Decentralised Ecosystem going to bring positives and negatives. In my opinion we are the safe keepers of our funds and we have to be vigilant while investing in any project. Stay blessed.

I agree with you. This is rewarding a thief. I am sure they can lay their hand on it same with content and account. I lost the illusion the blockchain is a great place for saving my content longer ago.

It's decentralized so they can't do anything about it, so people have to be smarter next time
