I'm watching it on eSteem and it looks like it worked:
Other markup codes that work on Steem can be found on "the ultimate guide to formatting on steemit (markup and markdown)".

I now know what you mean.
It appears that the mobile @eSteemapp (at least on android) doesn't show markup correctly.
