Reconnecting with yourself... What are your dreams for the future?

Hi guys! 🥰 I am at a stage in life where I am trying to better understand myself.

After 16 years of marriage abruptly coming to an end, I found myself in a position I never thought I would be in; I am able to shape my future as I’ve always dreamed it to be.

Sadly, people grow apart and it isn’t until later in life that you realise paths and dreams don’t always stay aligned and can fork off in different directions to the people your dedicated your adult life to.

Nobody is to blame, it just happens as we mature and grow. We all find peace in different things.

The problem occurs when you fall into a ‘plodding through life’ phase, where neither partner wants to push their own dreams in front of the family life, knowing that the other party does not ultimately follow the same path. The passion for life experience is lost and settling for ‘just being ok’, becomes the norm.

Almost 2 years on from ‘the split’ and I am now at a stage where I have the freedom to decide if I continue to hold myself back, or if I choose take the bull by the horns and live the life I have always dreamed of. But what exactly is that after all this time? I thought I knew; but once you have the freedom to follow your dreams, you start to second guess yourself and your abilities.

My son starts college in September so doesn’t need me as much which frees up an extraordinary amount of time. Well, it would if I didn’t have 7 dogs to take care of too! Cue my beautiful bullies 🥰...

Dogs are a HUGE part of my life and wherever my path may lead, the bullies will be right there with me. I am an advocate for health testing and correctly breeding bulldogs to kc standards and I will continue to strive to produce healthy, happy bulldogs whenever I can. It is extremely important for the breed and for puppy parents alike. There are way too many bad breeders out there.

But what is my dream environment? I love living in Sherwood Forest, surrounded by woodland; it is my favourite place in the world to be!

My dream would be to live in a farmhouse with a few acres of land for grazing animals and exercising the dogs, but also to be surrounded by woodland and lakes. I can’t think of a more peaceful way to live out my life than that.

I’m not one for material things. My car has to be big enough to fit the dogs in and powerful enough to pull a trailer or caravan! Nothing flash for me.

I am so happy to say my new partner is a kindred spirit and he loves photography, dogs and nature, just as I do. We have so many discussions about the adventures we can have and the places we could live in the future. He is even starting to learn about crypto!

I am extremely lucky that I have met the most amazing man and we have the same outlook on life. Hopefully we can plan and achieve our dreams together and no longer just plod through the years and settle for just being ok ❤️

I can’t wait to figure things out and enjoy the journey ahead 🥰
