SPLINTERLANDS | My First Season
Are you playing Splinterlands? If not, you should be! Like many of you, I have heard of this game for months and never took the time to dive in. I thought I'd "missed the boat" so to speak. Thanks to many conversations with @cryptoeater I decided to finally give it a shot. I was hooked immediately and purchased a Max level alpha set pretty much going all in… Once you actually play you understand the potential and awesome community behind it.
About 14 days later through my first season I made it all the way to champion level 2 and was only about 30 points away from champion level 1, finishing 90th overall. Not too shabby! Now, I realize I went very hard getting such a high-level deck, But this is definitely a game of skill and with the right strategies you can easily climb the ranks.
I will be doing a whole series on this and post updates as I battle for the number one position over the next few seasons. Very special thank you to @aggroed @yabapmatt and my good friend @cryptoeater for all the guidance.
There is a whole other element of profitability while playing this game, but that will be another discussion. I think it's very healthy for the dapplications to be played for the sake of having fun, not financial incentives, and this is surely the case here. However, I think acquiring early cards will make you very happy once real adoptions takes over. We are all still very early to the party.

Hello. I'm new to Splinterlands too. Would you give me some piece of advise for my little account? I'm low in SP so my RC won't let me play as much as I like.
Are you On discord? I believe if you message one of the Administrators, they can delegate you some additional SP to play. Just start by learning all of the cards in and out.

You can also go to https://giftgiver.me/ and type in your username to get a free 20 SP delegation for 3 days. You're allowed to request for a new one every 5 days. I haven't tried it myself, but I see a lot of the players on Discord using this to delegate SP for Splinterlands (a.k.a. Steem Monsters) games.

Does Splinterlands have something to do with Steem Monsters or are the games separate?

Different names for the same game. Branding is slowly transitioning from Steem Monsters to Splinterlands.

No, it is the same thing. After transitioning cross platforms (now using TRX as well) there was a branding change. Same great team behind it.

Not bad at all for your first season and it honestly is a fun game once you dig into it a bit. The addition of DEC and Orbs/ potions has made the daily to do challenge that much more fun and keeps me coming back for more.
