You and I agree on some things. 1: America has a problem with police and police violence. The militarization of every police force is a frightening thing to me. Black Lives Matter is actually at the front of this problem and as such gets my respect. It's a lot easier for a significant fraction of Americans to believe that the problem is racially driven (in some ways it is) than to wrap their heads around the idea that it is truly us vs them and we non cops are ALL them. It's command and control on a grand scale.

It goes back a long ways here, maybe all the way to the very beginning of this country. That one population could enslave all others is pretty fucking arrogant. Yes, slavery was not limited to Africans. Natives were also enslaved and a hell of a lot of immigrants came as 'indentured servants' or slaves for a specific number of years. The blacks got the short end of the stick there because some genius (es) decided that it would be just fine to make the children of slaves from Africa slaves as well. That didn't work out so good...

I just stayed completely away from the 'blackout' thing. I could see from the start where that was headed and staying away probably prevented my head from exploding. I'm not even going to discuss it because I'll get crazy and at my age I have better uses for my energy.

Thanks Mork/
