Some Concept Work

A few months back I worked on an animation project. This is some of the work produced from that project.

Tonight I'll just be sharing one set I developed. It's a sort of beachside bar in a fantastic world with magic etc.

I needed to work out the exterior and interior of this environment and started with the thumbnails as you see in the first image. Then moved to a more detailed sketch of the exterior as shown above.

Then moved on to the roof. and after that started working my way inside.

This image shows the main bar area.

This one obviously shows the kitchen, fun stuff. This early concept stuff isn't as flashy or sexy as some of the more promotional stuff that you'd ultimately get to. It's really just about solving problems.

These were all rough initial passes, but I think it was going in the right direction. This project is currently "paused" I suppose, but I hope I'll be able to continue to work on it in the future. It was a pretty sweet gig. I've got more work from this project that I'll probably share in the future. Character design, etc., but I'll save that stuff for another day. See you all in the next post!
