A new picnic or study spot!

First, a special Valentine's flower for all the ladies on #steemit !
A "Double Hibiscus" flower!

Now to the post here today. Because it is extremely hot and I have to stay out of the sun, it doesn't mean that I have to stay in the house. Nope, as there is much shade in nature.
So, we decided to go and have a look at a place down by the river that I will show you here. A safe and wide open spot right next to an olive farm.
Come and take a look if you would like it here!

IMG_1003.JPG

A beautiful place and someone's dog cooling off in the river!

IMG_1027.JPG

Look at the size of the trees here as it makes one to feel like a midget!

IMG_1032.JPG

This is where I got the picnic idea, as here is a young lady spending time out in nature!

IMG_1039.JPG

Here you can see the rows of olive trees on the farm next door!

IMG_0999.JPG

Of course where there's a river there would be fish!

IMG_1006.JPG

I don't know if anyone has panned this river, as those specks in the sand below the fish might be gold specks Lol.

IMG_1011.JPG

Here we have a rare shot! A Navy Dropwing dragonfly at the top and a Blue Damselfly at the bottom!

IMG_1002.JPG

This photo is of a pair of mating damselflies!

IMG_1047.JPG

This one above is a Denim Dropwing dragonfly!

IMG_1015.JPG

And this darker blue one is a Navy Dropwing dragonfly!

IMG_0987.JPG

Ah! Take your shoes off and put your feet into the water, as this guy would love to tickle your toes hahaha!

IMG_0988.JPG

Please don't follow my advice above, as you will need many plasters for your toes if this guy has to grab them Lol.

IMG_1074.JPG

Here we passed the young lady again and you can see her relaxing. Like I said, it's a safe place!

IMG_0940.JPG

Next to a river nestled in the lee of a mountain. What more can one want?

And That's All Folks!

I have also taken photos of a few birds here, but I will keep them for another post.
Let me tell you that there is no other place that comes close to nature if you desire pure rest and relaxation. Of course there is so much to be seen for those that love photography amidst the music of bird song. Several of the old trees here had their roots exposed by the wash of the river and yet they survive and continue to grow. Birds, cicadas, crickets and many others all compete for a place on the musical stage and a soft wind keeps people cool in the shade of the trees.
The gurgle of the running river water sings sweet lullaby's that will put the most restless souls to sleep.
A place of rest and refreshing indeed.

Mother nature has a part time job as a psychiatrist. She can listen to your troubles and then counsel you back to wholesomeness with the aid of her beauty and her residents. All that she wants is for you to come and lay upon the grass of her bosom, on a blanket if need be, and then to listen to her calming voices.
"Dream on, dream on"; she whispers, "as everything is going to be all right".
At least that's what I hear!

We hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and peace to all.

Hahaha, spot on JJ, as how can one sit and eat, or lie and relax if there are so many photo opportunities around?
But in any case, some people are not photographers and they will enjoy it out in nature.
Blessings and thank you for the tip!

MY wife would happily sit and enjoy the sun and scenery, which works for me as she also doe snot mind me going on walkabout with my camera while she relaxes ;)

Seems like one of the signal towers here are down due to the power cuts JJ. I am tying my best to do all of my replies and other things before the next power cut which is 1 hour away. But things are very sloooow!

We are the same as Marian also does her own thing when we go out!
Blessings!

I feel for you having to deal with the Load shedding and then add a tower being down must be so frustrating for sure

Soon again my friend, but at least the replies load faster today, which means they have sorted the fault out.
Much damages are caused by these powercuts.
Blessings and thank you for the kind tips that you always give me!

Ohh yeah working in the IT field i know the damage power cuts can do, a nightmare for the company to maintain and I am glad to hear that the internet is faster now

Hahaha, not only damages to IT JJ. People's geysers and refrigerators get blown out not even to mention TVs and other appliances.
Electric generators also don't liked the constant switching on and off and many of them simply blow up from the power surges.
A real madhouse here!

Hahaha, it's the moving on in life that holds all of the surprises my friend. I keep on thinking that morning I will wake up with something missing that fell off during the night Lol.

Beautiful photography, I love your dragonfly pics, nobody does a better job with those lovely creatures than you, my friend. Like @tatoodjay, I would not picnic or relax there, landscape too wild for me. But I would take many pictures 📷

Thank you for the kind words my friend.
There might be the odd snake or lion around, or maybe a baboon troop or two, but such is the thrill of nature Lol.
The place is a picture haven.
Blessings!

It looks like you found a nice cool spot to beat the heat after all.
I like that river crab. Watch your toes!

Thank you and oh yeah, a place in the shade of a massif tree, with a soft wind blowing is perfect. Natures air conditioning my friend.
The crab was not one of the really big ones, as I have seen some that are as big as dinner plates elsewhere and I will see if I can find one here on my expeditions.
Blessings and hope that you have a good weekend!

Beautiful post, @papilloncharity. The girl relaxing in nature is such a calming image. It makes me want to go lie in a meadow! But it's 0 degrees Celsius here, so I won't be doing that anytime soon. Ha ha.

MMMmmmm. Nice.

Now don't you dare to go lie down anywhere outside in those temperatures my dear friend Lol
Very hot over here and I would happily go and lie down anywhere where it is cold hahaha. Even the mosquitos are sweating Lol.
Blessings!

You not kidding, even under the aircon it is too hot to think. Got out earlier this morning, not quite as lovely as your walk, but in the shade makes life a bit easier.

Wonderful photography once again Stephen.

Thank you Lady Joan and this sun is really making life very difficult.
Especially if one has always loved the sun and worked shirtless in the sun for many years. Now I have to go around like some nocturnal animal hiding from the sun. A real pain.
In fact, I think I got some nice shots of the sunset this evening. Will have to download the camera to see.
Glad that you liked the photos my friend.
Blessings!

Howdy sir papilloncharity! What another selection of wonderful photos! That river water must be very clean because it looks super clear.

Greetings my friend. Times with all of the changes are certainly confusing and it is hard to keep up with normal conversations.
Glad that you liked the photos and the water is clear as were right at the foot of the mountain. Once it has flowed through the town and reaches the coast you will never think that it was the same water.
Blessings!
