ACID RAIN-PIOGGIA ACIDA [ENG/ITA]

Hi everyone!!!
The 20 of September is started the global climate strike “Fridays for future” Finally!!!
Something is moving, students from all over the world demonstrate against climate change, I hope they continue to make themselves heard, their future is at stake.
A work I did a few years ago came to mind, its title is “Acid Rain”, reflecting on artificiality due to air pollution produced by our society that pays more attention to profit than to the health of our planet. This that we see is a detail of the work.

Il 20 settembre è iniziato lo sciopero mondiale per il clima il “Fridays for future” Finalmente!!!
Qualcosa si sta muovendo, gli studenti di tutto il mondo manifestano contro i cambiamenti climatici, spero che continuino a farsi sentire è in gioco il loro futuro.
Mi è venuta in mente un’opera che ho fatto alcuni anni fa, si intitola Pioggia Acida, riflettendo sull'artificialità dovuta all'inquinamento atmosferico prodotto dalla nostra società che guarda di più al profitto che alla salute del nostro pianeta. Questo che vediamo è un particolare del lavoro.

“Acid Rain” is a textile work, formed by a metal mesh it made with copper wires, steel, iron and recovery items, such as easily opened alluminum caps, tooken from food packaging. The work measure cm 75x150.

“Pioggia Acida” è un'opera tessile, formata da una maglia metallica realizzata con fili di rame, acciaio, ferro e oggetti di recupero, come tappi easy open di alluminio, presi da imballaggi per alimenti. L’opera misura cm 75x150.

These are, morphologically suited to the title of the work for theyr resemblance to water drops, they are painted with enamel, with symbolic motifs related to the earth and the female universe.

Questi, morfologicamente adatti al titolo dell'opera per la loro somiglianza con le gocce d'acqua, sono dipinti a smalto, con motivi simbolici legati alla terra e all'universo femminile.

Moreover the work have plastic and crystal drops, all wrapped in layers of tulle, that with theyr colors make us think of the atmosphere.

Inoltre l'opera presenta gocce di plastica e cristalli, il tutto avvolto in strati di tulle, che con i loro colori ci riconducono all'atmosfera.

On the whole a vibration is created of light and shadow, which accompanied by the sound of metal at every movement, it gives life of a work multidimensional and multisensor. All this is linked to a philosophy in which the passage of time it becomes an invisible part of the work. In a world that is constantly accelerating, slowing down almost becomes a mission.

Nel complesso si crea una certa vibrazione di luce e l'ombra, che accompagnata dal suono del metallo, ad ogni suo movimento da vita ad un'opera pluridimensionale e plurisensoriale, legata ad una filosofia in cui lo scorrere del tempo diventa parte invisibile dell'opera. In un mondo in costante accelerazione, rallentare diventa quasi una missione.

This is the complete job. A wire mesh made of waste materials which turns into a precious object.
Perhaps in all this there is a message, because waste if reused and not thrown into the environment can be trasformed and solve many problems.

Questa è l’opera al completo. Una rete metallica formata da materiali di scarto che si trasforma in un oggetto prezioso. Forse in questo c’è un messaggio, perchè i rifiuti se riutilizzati anziché gettati nell’ambiente possono essere trasformati e risolverci molti problemi.
