One of my favorite dog portraits that I've painted

avatar

ntopaz-image-0This is Zoey. She's a Saffordshire Terrier, basically, like a small pitbull. She's totally adorable.

I stayed with her and her humans a while back.... and as I was leaving, I saw her watching me go -- I grabbed my real camera (as compared to cellphone), and shot a reference photo with a telephoto lens, so her owners didn't see me taking a picture..... And then... one day.. BAM they log onto Facebook, and see this image.

And then... a year later, I go to San Diego to get my mail, which I had sent to their office, and I run into the dude at his office. We catch up a little bit. Then I go to his house, and drop the painting off with his wife.... I left town, and he had no clue that I had the painting... I didn't let it slip when we were hanging out.

He was massively surprised. It's one of my big pleasures to surprise the shit out of people :)

Thanks! My anatomy is something I definitely need to practice on. I'll use this as my excuse to do so. I appreciate that you commented to let me know about it.

I greatly appreciate that. Thanks for coming back again and again. Not sure there's as much of a point of creating without anyone seeing it (though, before social media, I was making art for myself, without others seeing it)
