[CR] #needleworkmonday :: One of my first projects
Happy, peppy #NeedleWorkMonday everyone!!
This bag was created for a friend of mine who loves books and she enjoys going to cafes, bringing a book with her and she would spend hours in the cafe reading there, sipping her favourite tea. And she has just returned from Japan after some years of studying there.
My thought was to create a sling bag with a fabric that has oriental motives paired with some hardy corduroy fabric. At that time, I found this beautiful print (I love prints like these) from a local arts and crafts shop. I only bought 1 meter and after that, when I wanted to get more, there was no more! π Dang! Should have bought more.
I like bags with pockets and because of that, I browsed Youtube videos on how to add a zipper pocket to a bag and I found this tutorial by Professor Pin Cushion which explained pretty clearly on how to do that. But I can't remember which video I followed for the sling bag itself. I remembered I was combining what I learnt from several videos to create this bag. And there are so many tutorials available out there.
It is nice looking back all these projects because it gives you inspiration and motivation to create more. And it is fun to see what I could do, if I put my mind to it π.
If you love any craft that uses needles, come and join the fun with us here every Monday! You can also join us every other day at #NeedleWork.

That's a lovely bag and I like all the pockets - there's nothing worse than scrabbling about in the bottom of a tote bag for your purse or keys or a hanky! THank you for the link to the tutorial, too :)
