Santa Statue Coronado California - Monday Missions Entry

This statue is some type of Asian figure dressed up for the season. He is about 3 feet high and on the next block from where I lived. The homeowners have him in a nice rock feature near the sidewalk. I saw him on the way to town for shopping and when I walked to the beach. He always brought a smile to my face.

He’s decked out as Santa now, but was decorated for all holidays. I have photos from St Patrick’s Day, 4th of July and Halloween, and maybe more than that. I probably don’t have one of him lacking decoration, since he rarely was without it.

This statue was always a nice reminder to take time to have fun. Sometimes I would see families on their walks with little kids so excited and once saw a girl giving him her daily hug. The mom told me she had to come by every day and her daughter would ask until they did. What a nice way to be friendly to your neighbors even if you are not at home.
