On the edge

You have a strange feeling when, being on the edge of a conquered, mountain peak.

When I was eight years old, I climbed a rock called Alchak, which is located in Crimea, the city of Sudak.

I stood alone, over a cliff, in front of me an open sea stretched. The waves hit, somewhere below, on the coastal cliffs.

The air smelled of sea, sage and lavender.

I wanted to jump up, and, to conquer another meter of impregnable rock, which seemed to be such when I looked at it, standing below, on the beach.

This plot, which I photographed near my house, reminded me of that feeling of freedom and a sense of victory.
