Sister Klara was working in the kitchen, getting things ready for the others to take out. She was trying to avoid any extra attention.

The hands that suddenly clapped over her breasts, pulling her against a hardened chest, and an arousal pressing towards her told her that she had been in error.

The firm hand tugged her arm and she was forced to accompany Prince Finn wherever he wanted to take her. This time, it was into the back store room. She went silently, not putting into voice any of the anger that raged within her.

Pushed over a barrel, she felt her ripped overskirt lifted over her back, then her tunic raised over her butt, exposing her to the air, just moments before his hands braced her hips and the Prince thrusted hard into her from behind.

“Come on, you can enjoy it!” he growled as he held her firmly.

She tried to think of nothing except her anger at him, aware that he seemed to be slightly telepathic, making him a dangerous man in the convent.

“Tell me you like it!” he demanded, pounding into her, now grabbing her breasts for support. “You will enjoy it!”

Klara remained silent, even as he pulled his hand back and swatted her butt. She felt humiliated, but she bit her tongue to keep from crying out. She may be forced to carry his child, but she would not admit to feeling anything for him – not even pain.

He pushed deeply into her and held her firmly against him as he twitched inside her. She knew he had given her a new dose of seed.

“I will have you every day, many times every day – until you conceive for me – and until you admit that you enjoy it!”

“I will die first,” she replied.

“That can be arranged!” he growled, pulling her hair back hard.

“Then why bother giving me a child?” she asked.

“Because it’s fun!” he replied. “Every woman I’ve been with has loved it. You will too!”

“Never!” she spat.

He shoved her roughly to the ground, then turned and left.

Klara got up quickly, adjusting her robes, feeling the Prince’s seed dribbling down her thighs. She wanted to go bathe, but it was meal time, so she couldn’t escape.

“Are you okay, Sister Klara?” Sister Misty asked.

“What happened?” Sister Dawn asked.

“You saw nothing, Sisters. Believe me… you did not see anything – your lives depend on that fact!” Sister Klara replied, blinking back the tears. “Don’t even say what you’re thinking – not in this building – not even alone if you can help it!”

“Yes, Sister Klara,” Sister Misty replied soberly. “Let me get things for you. You go lie down.”

“No. I do not get to rest – not until the King and the Prince have left Mt. Vasana.”

Sister Vasana felt very, very tired as she went about her evening tasks. She had to admit that when she had heard that the royals were going to visit, she had been tempted to leave and hide for the duration. But that would have been to leave everyone at the mercy of the lustful King and his son.

She was saddened that Klara had received the brunt of the Prince’s attentions, but at the same time, she couldn’t think of a sister who could suffer him better. At least Wren had been spared – if she and her man reached Freesia safely. The girl had made a rash, but smart decision, Vasana realized.

She needed to clear those thoughts away. She had long known that the King had the Gift, as Stella had called it when the healer had visited once. He never failed to know what she had been thinking about. Even though it had been 16 years, she remembered it like it was yesterday - or earlier, when he had forced himself onto her once again – just like old times. She glowered at the thought.

The dining hall ready for their guests, she felt the King’s presence.

“You will sit with me for the evening meal,” he said. “And share my bed tonight.”

“Yes, Sir,” Sister Vasana replied without emotion.

“You will also explain why one of my men are missing, one of your sisters as well as one of your horses.”

“The Sisters come and go as they choose. I am not in control of them. It is only sensible she takes a horse.”

“You try my patience,” he said thinly. “You are the Elder here. You must have some knowledge of where she went.”

“Sick aunt in Thulia, I believe. Her healing services were required.”

“And Thulia has no healers?! Do not take me for a fool! If I discover you were involved in any escape, I will have your head.”

“And you accuse me of lying, Sir. I find that insulting!” Her voice raised and carried across the room.

“And my missing man?” he asked.

“Maybe he followed the Sister.”

“On foot?!”

“How am I supposed to know?!”

He made a motion as if to hit her, but then stood down. “You will pay for your insolence tonight. You are lucky I haven’t already had you executed!”

“A fine way to treat the mother...”

“Shut up!” he screamed, slapping her across the face. “You act like you want to die!”

“You are afraid of truth!” Sister Vasana accused, not caring that others stared.

“Come!” he demanded, yanking her to him by her hair. “Your behavior costs you your dinner. Maybe if you tell me the truth, I will bring you something later!”

He pulled her with him to his chamber. He opened the door and shoved her inside. “The guards will have the truth from you or each one of them will have their way with you. Your torture ends when you tell me where the missing Sister went with my guard!” The King turned and left.

“Go to hell!” Sister Vasana seethed as the door closed and locked.

On a gray horse, Wren and Kevin continued on their journey, taking the road heading northwest when they reached it.

“I’m a little cold,” Wren shivered.

“Sorry,” he said. “I will hold you more tightly to keep you warmer.”

“I wish we could stop and have a fire.”

“Me too, but it could easily cost us our lives. The King will soon know that I left. I’m sure he will figure out that you’ve left with me.”

“I know. But it doesn’t stop me wishing that we could spend a night together in the same bed,” Wren replied.

“I want that too!” Kevin said, squeezing her closer. “As soon as we get to Freesia, we will spend every night together, pet!”

“How about some of the jerky Sister Klara packed for us?”

A wolf cried not too far away.

“Not with wolves around to smell it! We are safer with the jerky packed securely.”

“Let’s hope they don’t come too close!” Wren cried.

“They don’t normally harass a horse,” Kevin replied. “I will keep you safe, my little Wren!”

The wolf cried again, accompanied by its pack. Wren hoped Kevin was right.
