“NFT+ is the Floopity-Doo!” by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

Here are my notes to myself (made exciting by judicious application of digital excitement):

Everybody’s workin’ for the weekend! (Except me. I work all day and all of the night. My job is dreaming up weird shit. Sometimes I succeed---sometimes, not as much. But I certainly try.) For my work, I do THE ART.
One of the things I dreamed up (well, STOLE, technically, but us creative types STEAL CONCEPTS, and then dream up new ways to apply them) was the MIXING of physical drawings with NFTs (digital art, in my case, tokenized on a blockchain). In my feverish slumber thoughts, I imagined drawing smaller works, approximately 4 inch by 6 inch or smaller, that I can easily MAIL to folks, and then I create an “NFT+” of the work, and offer to SEND the original work to the purchaser of the NFT for no extra charge. Seemed like a cool plan to me.
My conundrum was this: In the normal course of creating art, I often START with an original drawing---ink or paint pen or crayon on paper or reclaimed cardboard---and then I JAZZ it up, manipulating the image and adding colors digitally. What then should I do for the NFT+ items?
Up until now, I’ve minted faithful attempts at reproducing the #handdrawn artwork, so that the folks who buy the #NFT know what they are getting in the mail…but NOW, I don’t know if that’s necessary… I’m CONSIDERING switching my modus operandi so that the NFT and the original aren’t necessarily duplications of one another. This will be closer to my TRADITIONAL method of working---but it will still allow me to go buck wild with the digital art AND have a…well…a SKETCH to send to the NFT+ purchasers!
Are we cool with that? (Whether we are or not, that’s the plan from here---for now…)

I would like to say a HUMBLE and APPRECIATIVE thanks to the fine folks who have bought my artwork so far! I’m having a great time making stuff---although technically I’ve ALWAYS made stuff, since I was a toddler. (I remember drawing monsters and other weird subjects since before I could write…) The difference, NOW, is that my freaky doodles, odd concrete poems, demented cartoons, and anxiety art can be seen by more people than just my wife. (That’s a good thing?)
In addition, folks occasionally even BUY my artwork, mostly to make themselves feel better. (Thank goodness for CHARITY! Where would my career be without it?? Ha!)
