032620 - The bus-kid's birth

"Are you still pregnant", a neighbor asked as a friend left who brought me some meals. Yes I was and nothing wrong as I went upstairs to go to bed. Toilet first... okay, no way I would deliver it in the toilet.
My eldest tried to teach the midwife, the ypungest moved upstairs so she could sleep and I waited.

Delivering at home is normal in the Netherlands and I had no intention to do it while laying on my back. There is a simple reason for it. I feel nothing so I can not press and gravity needs to give me a hand.
The lazy midwife arrived, grumpy because she had to leave home instead of going to bed. She didn't believe I was in labour. Sorry for her I was and it was a big shock to her. More sorry for her I had no intention to lay down in bed and she had to walk to her car to pick up the birth chair (it's more like a toiletseat on legs).

She sat down on the floor with her back against the wall about 2 meters distance from me and said yawning: "I give you five minutes if it's not there you go to hospital".

Five minutes? Five minutes it was and she did nothing except for threatening me.

She made a call to check my pregnancy. Sorry for her but it was after midnight. A new day so exactly long enough pregnant to stay home. She looked mad and I said: " Wow, you really had to work hard to deliver this one!"

She wrote down in my medical report I was hard to attend and after she threatened me with the hospital it was there within 5 minutes.

It was the strangest child I ever saw.
Hair, eyebrows, everything so white it looked like an elf.

  • Happy birthday to the bus-kid.
    Posted with Appics.
It's my kid's birthday and we make the best out of it.
I started baking a cheesecake and we put down all the present (mainly food for a good mood for a long period at home).
It's day started with a physics test after it was finished we had cheesecake.
Later today I baked a few pancakes (for the birthday kid only) and filled them with custard pudding and home made cherry marmalade. It was one of it's wishes.

This is a test. I like to know where the hives run. I think it's on Steemit and Hive but I have no idea if they are both updated. It's a very long list shown after you published and the newest post will be found at the end of the list. Is this practical? I don't think so. No one will read/find you.

  • Ever been drunk of food containing alcohol?
A tweet of the police taled about a drunk driver who didn't drink. Good for today's laugh. 😅

  • Birthday Food

That is a great story, @wakeupkitty. That midwife should pick a different line of work that doesn't involve any of the following: pregnant mothers, babies, anyone deserving of compassion, and people of any kind!

I wish she had. We met her years later again as my eldest gave birth she was on duty. She was my eldest big fear too. I guess she had the night duties because my daughter never met her during the check ups.
