Letters

I love writing letters—those traditional ones, which you then go send into the world. Those written by hand with the favorite music in the background, written down on a hand-made stationery which I like to discolor so that it looks like an old vintage paper.

Using my favorite green-colored pen I described on these pages all the important matters, as well as those quotidian ones. For years now I have my old faithful pen-pals, which share my love for creating traditional letters.

My letters, however, are somewhat different. Using scrapbooking materials I design and prepare my very own encasement for the message. Inside I also add fragrant tea bags, hand-made bookmarks and small notebooks, as well as printed illustrations and many other little things which are meant to inspire and surprise my pen-pals.

What I appreciate the most in making everything myself: from the letter, through any additions, and to the envelope itself, is that I can really put my heart into it. I can share with others what I find inspiring and awe-worthy. I cannot recall how many times I myself couldn't wait for a letter from my pen-pal to arrive, knowing it would be the one and only, made specifically for me, filled with the warmest words, with tea and fragrances inside the envelope.

But most of all, I want to keep the tradition of hand-made and hand-written letters alive in this world filled with social media and high-speed information exchange.
