Secrets of Organ Playing Contest | week 91| Pinkevicius

This piece is from a collection of movements written by Vidas Pinkevicius (b. 1976). The movement is titled Dulcian. A dulcian is a reed like pipe. I do not have a dulcian on this organ, so I am using a posaune, which serves a similar purpose. The dulcian/posaune is a 16' pipe that I am using in the pedals. It is that soft sounding buzz found in the bass. Unfortunately, i was unable to soften the manuals as both the posaune and flutes are contained within the same speaker on this organ.

I love this piece as I can use it as an offertory or meditative component in a church service. I am able to extend it as it begins and ends in the same key, so its very easy to continue playing and the score calls for "ad libitum" so I can take my time or add in some runs in the pedals to make it sound fresh each time i repeat the piece.

And, i sincerely hope i pronounced his name correctly!

Sounds very exotic! Thank you! Yes, feel free to extend it to ad infinitum or ad nauseam haha!
