Brief tour of the historical center of Caracas

This historical site of the capital of Venezuela is a place that I am increasingly frequenting with my life partner. She recently opened a steem account and is taking advantage of the virtues of a city that is over 400 years old.

As a photographer I can't resist making graphics in the place I am, I will always have a reason to see beautiful things, maybe this is not a common tour where people give interesting data, I am just showing what my eyes saw, the detail is just what I found most attractive in this outing.

Some of the pieces I found in this publication represent the cultural and architectural heritage of Caracas.

Walking along a narrow street that has been converted into a boulevard is something that evokes in me the sounds of wagons passing by with their horses, or carts loaded by slaves of the time. This is a Spanish colonial city that contrasted greatly with its social classes, the Mantuanos were one of the privileged classes of the time, They had the economic control of everything that was commercialized in the city and owners of the routes, these citizens were not considered as Spaniards so resentment was also felt in this class that centuries later will be revealed against the same empire to which they paid tribute.

One of the young men who acts as a guide in the house where Simón Bolívar was born, whom we asked about some historical data of the city, showed us with great pride a silver doubloon from 1911 which bears the name "United States of Venezuela" when the state was geopolitically configured that way.

Two stones that attracted my attention were used to promote an aqueduct and the other to commemorate a Catholic Christian date, it could be an old form of publicity, it must have been expensive to have it sculpted.

Big doors that showed the grandiosity of an opulent time, the families of Spanish origin had very big houses fortified against attacks of any kind, these families could have great wealth from the sale of coffee, cocoa and gold, Bolivar's family had the biggest estates of Cocoa and Coffee.

The doors were made with lions, iron to nail the thick wood, extremely beautiful most of the doors of the wealthiest houses of the time.

Another object that moved me to see is a cannon in perfect condition belonging to the Spanish royal guard, along with some shackles and chains that remind me of the slave period for me the worst in the world, approximately 17 million Africans were enslaved and brought to America thanks to the English and Portuguese sales, 1 slave was equivalent in price to 4 trees were Cocoa.

Finally a picture of the time that shows in an illustrative way how was the old Caracas, pointed out by many historians the city of the red roofs because they were made with red clay tiles.

I hope you enjoyed this short visit to one of my favorite places from now on. And long live history!

Thank you Carmen Victoria @cvnuitter for joining me 😍😍❤️
