NeedleworkMonday: Unraveling a Sock and Preparations for Knitting
Remake of a Sock
Some weeks ago I showed you the socks my sister received as a gift - they were much too big and I offered to reknit them for her. These are the steps of that procedure:
| Upper right: | The Socks before the start of the work | So sahen die Socken vorher aus. |

| Lower right: | The reel I bought recently - it really helps with winding the yarn. | Die letztens angeschaffte Haspel - wirklich sehr hilfreich für diese Arbeit. |
| Lower Left: | The skein of yarn - really crinkled after having been a sock. | Stark gekräuselt, aber ordentlich im Strang |
| Upper left: | I wetted the yarn and suspended between two clothes hangers. I put a light jacket on the lower hanger as a weight to flatten the yarn without putting too much tension on it. | Den angefeuchteten Garnstrang hab ich auf einen Kleiderbügel gehängt und mit einem zweiten beschwert - eine leichte Regenjacke gab genau das richtige Gewicht um es nicht zu sehr zu dehnen. |

| Lower left: | The yarn cake that was once a sock. | Das fertige Knäuel, mit dem losen Faden zum aus der Mitte ziehen. |
Now I "only" have to start knitting the socks!

So much work to rescue the yarn. As I am still fairly new to knitting, I learned very late, that it is not advisable to unravel and then directly knit the yarn :-DDD I made a sweater and was so surprised, that the unravelled yarn knitted up into an ugly and irregular fabric. You should have written this post 1,5 years back :-D
