Scrubs Alteration for Pottery Class Pants

Since I have been taking my pottery wheel class, I have run into some issues with my clothing. I thoroughly enjoy the class but afterwards I am a hot mess. I usually have clay all over my shirt, pants and sometimes my sneakers. One of my classmates started wearing scrubs to class as a solution to using towels and aprons. That sounded like a good idea to me too. I bought several pairs of scrubs to wear and to use when I am throwing clay at the senior center and at home.

One pair of scrubs that I bought were really too big for me but I bought them anyway because of the discounted price. I have a history of buying clothes that are too large with the intention of altering them later. Later sometimes means much, much later down the road. This time though, I decided to alter a pair of the scrub pants just a little this morning.

The inseam was too long but the pants length was perfect. I also liked this pair of pants because I can slip them over my jeans while I work on the wheel and afterwards, I am clean enough to go to lunch with friends or shopping without creating an eyesore to the public.

I used a pair of scrubs that fit me to determine how much fabric I would take off. As it turns out, I didn't end up taking off too much because I still want them to fit over my skinny jeans.

It didn't take but a few minutes of my time, and I used my serger which is really fast. Have a wonderful day!

That's a cool idea to use scrubs. I always just used an apron in ceramics class in school (and at home - but I don't have a wheel).
