Flat Panel Knitting Adventures

I live the efficiency of my circular knitting machine. I am able to mitt at five times the rate that I can knit by hand. The knitting machine is made in a circle, but it has a flat panel feature. I have tried several times to master knitting a flat panel with no success.

I have watched a video of a lady making a flat panel using my same knitting machine, but either my machine is broken or I am not feeling the stop function.

To knit a flat panel, you have to reverse directions at a certain point over and over.
For some reason, I keep bypassing the point where I am supposed to change my direction.

I finally quit after I got frustrated. I was trying to knit a scarf to go with my leg warmers.

I will try again at some other point, or go to my flat bed knitting machine. The challenge for me is that I forget how to use these machines when I put them away for a while.

I will use this sample either in an art project, or for a dish cloth.

Enjoy your day.

Could you knit a circular double-sided scarf?
I knw what you mean about putting things away and forgetting how to use them. It took me a while to get going with my sewing machine after putting it away for twenty years.

Absolutely! That thought never occurred to me. I have plenty of yarn and I already know how to knit in the round on the machine. Thanks for the tip.
