Crocheted Pillow Covers

I found this pattern booklet while shopping at my local thrift store. I bought it because it came with a skein of winter white acrylic yarn, the completed front side of a pillow cover and a J size crochet hook. Once again someone started on a pattern and didn't finish it. The yar is made out of acrylic and is a winter white. It reminds me of a hat that I made last year using the front post double crochet stitch. This time however, the pattern is used to make a pillow cover.

The pillows are very decorative, but I would want to use some of my cotton yarn to make the pillow covers. I like to be able to throw them in the washing machine easily and I prefer cotton.

The front post round pillow is made using the front post treble crochet stitch which is almost identical to the pattern that I used for my hat last year.

It is so funny how there is nothing new under the sun. People can take a stitch and make a hat or a pillow. It all depends on what vision you have for your final piece.

Enjoy your day.
