Skiing in the dusk.

Yesterday was the shortest an darkest day of the year. Today the sun has start rising again and brighter times are ahead of us. Even the daylight is little and short it is good to get out. Today we had our first trip on ski. Around 13:30 we was ready and our way up to mountain platou above Narvik.

We skied around 10 km today. When it is cloudy the daylight and colours is quite blue. When it got darker the light from the city lightened up the clouds and gave a warm contrast to the blue surroundings.

The ski trail start down in the forest and winds up the mountain side. This and the 3 following pictures is taken with my phone.

Higher up in the mountainside we got a view of Narvik city and the harbour.

The light from the city reflecting in the snow. Around two o'clock it was quite dark. With my DSLR camera I used tripod and shutter between 2 and 5 seconds, aperture 7,1 and ISO between 800 and 3200. I always try to convey reality as it was when the picture was taken. Very often blue snow is underexposed pictures, but in the dusk it looks like that.

The Sleeping queen slowly disappear in the clouds and dark.

It was perfect conditions for skiing. Not to slippery and dry snow.
