Goodbye to Fall - Hello to Finter :(
This is what we woke up to yesterday morning. Normally we don’t see this kind of weather until the end of November. I was just telling my husband that I wanted us to take our annual family photo outdoors. There’s this really nice park nearby that is loaded with trees. Usually around this time the leaves are still changing colors and reaching their peak of beauty. I wanted us to be surrounded by those gorgeous colors for our photo.
Well that probably won’t happen now. After getting hit with this Finter weather, the leaves on the trees are already falling off even before they’ve reached their peak. If you’re wondering what Finter is my husband said that’s the name for this new season; Fall + Winter = Finter!
This is so unfair! My favorite season is Fall and I look forward to this time every year. It’s already the shortest season and now it’s even shorter because of this rude interruption from the snow.

I feel robbed! We are going to have a rough Winter I just know it.
I decided to go out and take some Finter shots to remember this ambush of coldness.
I could literally hear the leaves being ripped from the branches with the cold wind. When I looked up this is what I saw. The leaves and the snow were both being blown away from the trees.
The trees are just as confused as I am right now.
As well as the grass...
Such is life.

The temperature at midday is above 20°C and last night we just had the first rain of the season. I guess that's the opposite extreme!

Ah ha ha ha, I feel this. We got several inches of snow here in Denver, and a new record low of 3 degrees! With the windchill the reports were saying it was like -15F.

Enjoyed this post @crosheille, as it does a nice job of capturing our feelings about last week here. A 50° drop in just a little over 24 hours and we were into "Finter" just like that! 🙂
