Juicy peaches and nectarines πŸ‘

Did you know that peaches and nectarines differ by one recessive gene which makes peaches fuzzy?

I gave my babies soft, ripe peaches to suck when I was weaning them. I add them to our green smoothies and chop them into yoghurt in the summer for sweetness and nutrition.

The fruit is rich in fibre, vitamins A, C, E and K, potassium, niacin, copper and manganese. It also contains some B vitamins, magnesium, phosphorus and iron. It is packed with antioxidants which can protect against aging and disease.

Peaches and nectarines are reputed to aid digestion, protect the skin, improve heart health, reduce allergy symptoms and protect against certain cancers.

Canned peaches offer similar vitamins and minerals if they contain the skin.
