How I Share My Knowledge For Earth Day Celebrations

Good morning hivers!

  1. What are you doing for the environment to help Mother Earth?

I choose this question because it is simple and basic for everyone who has the potential of helping the earth.

Since I am living in the desert and not my own country, I just make my initiative around the small garden in the vicinity of my employer's house.

As far as I knew, we have the season having a lot of sandstorm attacks for 1 or 2 months. To avoid direct blows of the wind inside the house, I planted trees and flowers. I have been sharing it here before.

My contributions to the earth

The latest fruit trees that I been planted are the figs.

This is me and my dwarf figs that bears fruit after three months.

I wonder why it bears fruit quickly while before, I was planted it here but it was just growing taller but I didn't see any fruit.

I'm so glad to see my healthy figs in front of the house of my boss. They are so delighted how I made it successfully giving fruits.

We are not the only ones who benefitted from the tree but it became the abode of my pets. Whitey and Sugar are always dating under the shady fig tree. I felt so grateful for how I gave them comfort from the direct heat of the sunlight.

Would you believe that planting trees could be a big part of our contribution to saving mother earth?

I suggest everyone plant any kind at home, outdoor and indoor. The pandemic is enough lesson for us to adopt tree planting. Even the tiny plant could have a big potential in helping to mend the awful situation of the earth.

I am living in a desert land but I survived the flowers and vegetables. How much more, you all guys. One plant could save millions of people if we believe in the power of nature.

Double hits in one shot

Figs is one of the ancient fruit trees which we can see in the Bible/ Quran. This fruit tree is being mentioned in the two Holy Books. When I saw it on the internet, I found many uses for our health

Figs are a good source of both calcium and potassium. These minerals can work together to improve bone density, which can, in turn, prevent conditions like osteoporosis. Studies suggest that a potassium-rich diet, in particular, can improve bone health and reduce bone turnover.

Nutrition

One major benefit of figs is that they are naturally fat-free, cholesterol-free food. They are also an excellent source of:

Vitamin A
Vitamin C
Calcium
Iron
Potassium
Magnesium
Nutrients per Serving

One medium (2 ¼ inch) fig contains:
Source

Therefore, I concluded and generalized that I am doing the right path in utilizing the small area of the land in the front yard. If I did it in the desert, how much more the people in the rural areas.

But it is necessary also to plant more trees in urban places. It is most needed because urban places are overcrowded. The factory and many establishments are making bad emissions into the atmosphere and environment. We should be aware of this situation if we love our next generation.

The ripe figs are so sweet. In my first taste, I didn't like the sandy texture but a few months later I learned to love it

This is my simple contribution to the @naturalmedicine initiative for the earth day celebration.

Save a life, Save Mother earth Save Animals, Save the Universe! Be a part of it and don't blindfold your eyes so you can see the reality!

THANK YOU AND HIVE ON!

I love figs! My grandmother had a fig tree in her garden... (actually it was more like a huge shrub). Every winter it was covered in ice and half of it died. However, half of it made it, and each year it grew to be as tall as the house.

I'm so glad your employers are happy about your gardening. Hopefully this will inspire them to give you a bigger area to plant, and grow delicious food. And I bet your cats are only two of the many many creatures who appreciate the fig tree you planted.

Good luck with everything!

Thank you for the beautiful words. Hope you are fine too with your family. I miss gardening, my parent raised us in the mountain. Yes, my boss family are happy for making their place better.

It can be really tricky to grow food in the desert, and I think you are awesome for being able to do this. Growing plants and restore the balance to the land is a lovely way to help heal the earth.

Lovely post and thank you for entering the Earth Day Challenge.
