Greetings from @walkerland, this weeks @naturalmedicine curator. I've enjoyed posts ranging from spiritual and psychological to herbal, and culinary wisdom on the blockchain this week! It was a pleasure to read, upvote, comment, curate and support your wonderful work. We'd like to remind you that the Natural Medicine herb challenge is due on September 5th and we'd love for you all to enter! Share Herb Recipes, Ideas & Wisdom for a chance to win steem. The challenge is sponsored by curie and well be handing out 40 Steem in Prizes!

We like to celebrate and share what lots of us are doing, rather than two or three good posts. It's nice to recognize both new and old authors for their forays into health topics. We're all in it together, and love to include you all as much as we can. If your name is here, we've probably upvoted or resteemed you too - just little ways to support you where we can. Much love!

In his post Time To Heal @metametheus responds to the EcoTrain QOTW asking: What is more important for good health... emotions, diet, exercise, positive thinking, or something else. I was reminded that many of the resources we need for good health are surprisingly easy to obtain.

He writes: After 20 years of learning and practicing ‘wellness’, I’ve realised that for me it comes down to only a couple of very simple things that don’t cost money, or drain resources, or cause harm to anyone or anything else (which of course cannot necessarily be said for other things).

@steemflow wrote a beautiful post this week titled InnerBliss Makes Generosity Easier - Believe In Giving. Generosity comes in so many forms and everyone benefits when kindness is at the forefront of our actions.

Generosity and Kindness are two human qualities which prompts people to give. And such true giving comes from the same source inside us which is known as InnerBliss. Rivers do not drink their own water, nor does trees eat their own food.

There are many such natural instances where nature teaches us to make a mindful and meaningful life just by sharing and making others happy. There is no greed and expectation attached to such kindness and generosity. Being Generous is the most Natural , outward expression of an inner attitude of "Compassion & Conviction" that whatever excess we have is for the benefit of those who are in need.

One’s gender identity is their innermost concept of self as male, female, both, or neither. Gender is a complex topic that a lot of people are struggling to understand. @alchemage opens up the conversation with a thought-provoking post titled The Social Birds & the Bees: The socialization of gender, a toy store ethnography

I conducted an ethnography of the toy sections at two major stores, Fred Meyers and Wal-Mart, in order to best capture the dominant schema of the Portland, Oregon social construction of gender. Both stores were consistent with one another in the manner of which they marketed and displayed their toys, as well as the type of toys marketed.

Some other interesting happenings, snippets and conversation starters on the blockchain:

@artemislives shared an inspiring story about Rocky, a Karenni refugee from Burma who is close to realizing his dreams of a formal education but needs a helping hand to make this dream a reality. Rocky's story is extraordinary and stands as a reminder to chase our dreams and how we can work together to make this world a better place for someone.

This was also a great foodie week - I was inspired to get more creative in the kitchen because of these beautiful and healthy recipes:

@birdsinparadise tempting us with Chocolate Matcha Protein Bites
@riverflows and her gorgeous Incaberry & Pecan Maple Muesli Bars with Chocolate Reishi Topping and
@plankstoplants and her nourishing Oregano Buddha Bowl with Sun-Dried Tomato & Oregano Lady Pea Hummus and
@lizelle shared tips and recipes for adding more healthy herbs into your culinary repertoire.

This curation is such a nice, gentle reminder that LIFE, lived consciously and generously, is medicine all of itself. It need not always be herbs and potions and diet-vitamins that heals - sometimes it is just the time to listen to another and enjoy the sunshine.

I loved this week on the blockchain - there were some lovely posts, and it's super cool to see the inclusion of #vegansofsteemit and #fruitsandveggiesmonday, and to support those heath lovin' tags where we can!!! Really fun to connect to those folk for sure and loving the healthy recipes!!

I must do a sum up post of some of the awesome herb posts too - particularly enjoyed @porters mint smoothie recipe and a few others. It's so busy at @naturalmedicine - I find it hard to keep up! And lots more fun things happening too - woo hoo!
