Cannabis Flower Processing at the Hempreor's House - OG Jack Cut

20191016_131042.jpg

What you see before you is an authentic OG cut of Jack Herer genetics. Getting the correct original genetics for this strain is actually pretty difficult these days. Thank you to Hero's of the Farm for achieving this, and to Oregon Hemp Genetics for preserving and populating it. Real Jack is back!

I always enjoy helping friends process the final step of their grows - the oh so dreaded trimming stage. Before we started helping out at Oregon Hemp Genetics, we made sure to come through to Mark Herer's place to help with his community's products first.

First Edition behind glass

Mark is the son of the famous Jack Herer - known as the Hemperor for his revolutionary involvement in cannabis activism. He authored several books, most notably the Emperor Wears No Cloths, which more than 10 editions and several thousand copies have been printed and sold. Jack is most famous however for the legendary strain he developed which he gave his namesake to. Him and his genetics have also appeared in, and been featured on the cover of High Times Magazine on several occasions, and has also won Cannabis Cup awards.

I am always honored to have this kind of connection in Oregon, so its a no brainer that if he needs my help - I am there as long as I am available.

Unfortunately his grow this season did not turn out how he would have liked. Like many Oregon grows this year, he had many of the same problems, and also could not afford to cover his plants. As a result, we used an old-school style manual trim machine to manicure these flowers, and garnered as much as we could out of it.

We always enjoy hanging out around Mark's. There is so much history, love, and tradition of west coast cannabis culture around him and his dwellings. I hope too see him flourish much more in the coming years, as I know things have been rough for many people (including myself) in 2019.

Oh yes he most certainly does. I believe Jack was an Oregon native and Mark grew up here and has lived in Oregon his entire life. I see him semi-frequently these days. I wanted to help him install a roof on his "deer manger" yesterday but I was busy.

This is epic @elemental!! Back in the early 90s, I was one of the leaders of the Bellingham chapter of NORML and I must have sold/given-away 100 of those books!! I wore my copy ragged flipping through the pages to show people this fact or that! At the time I was about 20 and I really didn't know much about Jack, other than he knew his shit. To see that first edition behind glass must be pure joy! Thanks for this blast from my past my friend.

I am glad someone enjoyed it! It really is important to preserve and educate about the heritage surrounding cannabis activism pre-legalization - Relics like this are severely underappreciated by most these days. That is cool to hear you were promoting his books back in the day... and now I am sitting here promoting them haha!

I have a ridiculous book about natural hemp textile processing I will post about at some point too. It is actually printed on hemp paper that was made locally in Eugene, Oregon. That thing is ultra sacred and hard to get a hold of... but I happen to know the author personally.

So cool! I follow Heroes of the farm on Instagram, and saw a post of them gifting this cut to Jacks son. So any talks about getting him a Steem account?

HAHA, yes those are in fact the same peeps, and the same exact plant. I bet you think its pretty crazy to see it here in this photo on Steem with us. As far as getting Mark on Steem... I have told him about it numerous times, but he is a busy man and is also not so tech or social media savvy - dude is old school. Maybe I will show him this post and comments and it will change his mind!
