Tree Climbing - Show Us Your California

This post is an entry into the weekly Show Us Your California contest hosted by @thesocalhive where we show a piece of our California.

Today I thought I would share one of my son's hobbies - tree climbing!

While we do not live in an area of California with forests, there are plenty of trees that have been planted around here and many trees in the parks and mountains which offer some opportunities for climbing. The suburbs of Los Angeles are an ideal climate for citrus fruits and there used to be many orchards around, but those have largely been replaced by housing of course.

I grew up climbing trees so I have encouraged my son also to get his clothes dirty and explore the trees as well. Of course, doing it safely is of utmost importance but he has been very safe from the beginning and is only allowed to climb when I am watching him closely.
