Monochrome Discovers Musing Monday

I cannot resist the allure of dogwoods. The seasonal beauty peeks at the very edges of spring and remains in my thoughts until the end of time. I am not sure I can be patient enough for new ones, so I will give you one from last year. Think of it as a clearance photo.

I have to admit, I came to make a #MonochromeMonday and instead, I give it one black and white and the rest I should push over onto a #MusingMonday tag. I swear I will start one! Who's in??

they set my aunts house on fire

i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

Well I think Musing Monday should be a thang. Only problem is no one does it quite like you, so hmmm wonder where that leaves it then :) I really do like to read those thoughts of yours. I always did enjoy hearing how you think.

Oh yes it will be time for tree Tuesday. I suppose there are a few posting them already perhaps.

Can you believe I was not able to post my vid from 1 till after 3. Yes indeed, your friends over at Comcast were feeding the gerbils I think. They just now put them back to work. I hear you have a lot of pull over there. Did ya put in a good word for the Old Guy?

You know, I truly would do it, but, knowing they have a very limited audience and it is a lot of work to write them some days, I will pass. I will just tuck them in here and there, wherever they fit. (or not!) But, thank you for your vote of confidence!

#TreeTuesday is upon us already! I should think about running out and getting a tree or three. Oh! Yikes The voodoo of Comcast! Stay far away from them! They killed off their gerbils, I hear!

I love dogwoods. They will always remind of My birthplace in Vancouver BC and my relatives in Canada. We don't have them here so i don't get to see them.

I had no idea you were from Vancouver! What the heck are you doing where you are? Vancouver is beautiful! California is too warm for most of the Northeastern things like lilacs and the pretty spring bushes.

Well, my parents moved us here in 1960. My dad got a job as a machinist. We used to visit my relatives a several times a year. I haven't been able to travel at all for a long time.

It was really nice here back then. Since about 1990 it's gotten steadily worse with non stop development and covering every bit of open space with buildings. I would go back to Vancouver in a minute if i could... : (

Geez!! You are from Long Island? I am from Connecticut! Go to Port Jefferson and look a little left-right across Long Island Sound! Yup! There I am! I was born and raised there.

And yes. The dogwoods are diving out there. My grandmother and grandfather live out near Orient Point. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words.

I lived in Centerport until I was twelve, and so I'm sure I saw you across the Sound at least once or twice... ;) Nearest real town was Huntington, with a library and a dime store and a grocery, also where I could buy a Superman comic for a dime and a slice of New York style pizza was like 15cents...

Our parents used to take us up to New Haven for Christmas at my Aunt and Uncle's... Lots of great memories.

Ah, you lived up Island. Down island was like living in the country. Even in the '80s and 90's there were (and are) still potato fields and strawberries grown. Oh, the old days of going to Fire Island and using the wooden wagons to get out stuff to Grandma's cottage. Because of course, everything was a cottage there.

The memories. Yes.

Fire Island and Jones Beach were wonderful, and where I first encountered one of the loves of my life... waves! :D (Surfer that I am).

I didn't get there a lot as a kid, but enough to remember and enjoy. The waters of the Sound were much more placid. We lived near a "tidal pond" with current-operated gates that shut as the tide went out and maintained a water level in the pond...

Fun to learn we were "neighbors." ;)

It may be a clearance photo but your Mono photo is gorgeous as are all the others, Musing Mondya is a cool tag, but probably not for me my mind runs all over the place and people would get lost and confused if I tried to do some musing LOL

Haha! Of course, I was kidding. Musing Monday would bomb. Not enough interest in something like that to carry a tag, otherwise I truly would consider it.

Most people look at flowers and poetry and scratch their heads and ask why. LOL
