Music Monday (feel free to add your own track)
Every Monday I intend to post a music video (and a few words explaining my choice) I invite you to join me by doing same in the comments section below. As the forum (hopefully) grows my aim is that we begin to inspire our fellow Steemians to broaden their musical horizons by listening to the music that inspires us. The only thing I ask is that (where possible) every song we listen to is played nice and loudly on headphones or speakers in order that we capture its true essence.
As more Steemians join this venture there is also going to be the possibility of being rewarded for our musical tastes via the amount of upvotes each song receives. That said please never feel awkward about posting a track, a guilty pleasure or even your own musical ventures. I have an extremely wide range of musical interests but also understand that music like beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder. As such I may play my chosen song, but who am I to define what constitutes good music.
Nice track - I had been on a similar theme ;)
Hello @ricia .. just asked if you're well on my other post, so won't ask twice! What a brilliant choice, it was when watching the Martin Scorsese directed Woodstock that I was introduced to Joe Cocker and this performance and was spellbound .. to this day it is one of my favourites. Love the gravel tone of his voice and of course this is a slice of music history that will continue to live in the hearts and minds of all that hear it. Thank you for the music my friend ..a great choice!!
Yes still gives me shivers 50 years on ;)
Great track! Took me back to my last day at school when my (punk) band played in the school hall. And I did think I had all the answers then and now, well, all I have is questions;) My turn to say thanks for the music, my friend.
On the friends theme, I was always fond of this one:
Hey @deirdyweirdy .. glad you enjoyed my choice this week. Yes, I remember the last day of school very clearly, but wow playing in your own band on the last day .. what a cherished memory! .. and of course, those that believe themselves to have all the answers have simply failed to ask the right questions. I love The Clash and this is great and emotive song, one that is always guaranteed to inspire memories of my fading erm faded :D youth! Thank you for sharing and thank you for the music, an inspired choice. Oh and just to let you know, te track didn't play .. so I nipped over to youtube to have a listen.
Eeeek, sorry about that. Hope it was worth it:)
It is sort of ironic how that plays out, we think we have all the answers, now that we are older turn into questions. Very nice perspective sung from the heart.
Barely coming in under the radar again tonight...lol. But I did make it! Here's the latest list according to a survey taken by Rolling Stone Magazine of the top all time one hit wonders. The first song I've never even heard before. I did though enjoy 96 Tears, Tainted Love and Spirit in the Sky. I left the link to the article at the bottom in case anyone wanted the background given to the songs.

Hey @sunlit .. missed you again!! As I'm in the UK I think this came in at about 5-6 in the morning and I was off away with work at 08.00 a.m! Still, a nice welcome home surprise for sure. :) As promised, I listened to all .. although no's 9,8 & 7 wouldn't play so I nipped over to youtube. Some excellent track here, glad it was the original Spirit in the sky (a true classic) and not the Dr & the Medics remake! I always thought My Sharona was a new track, but that was obviously a remake .. you learn something new every day!! And, Come On Eileen .. every time I hear it .. I'm transported back to my childhood, the power of music! Thank you for the music my friend!! :D
Always a joy to participate. I've written down a couple songs I heard this week on the radio I haven't heard before...now I just need to manage not to lose the paper and I'll be all set to go this Monday.
