Raggae song originated from Jamaica but it has spread to all continent, making it a universal language.

Raggae is a genre of music accepted and it has gain ground firmly in Africa especially Nigeria.

Raggae music ranges from the church to the street, to the club even with mixing and species of hiphop, highlife etc.

One name that will ring loud to ears when it comes to raggae music in Nigeria is MAJEK FASHEK

Born in February 1949 in Benin City, Edo state in Nigeria and christened Majekodunmi Fasheke is a song writer, actor, activist and a musician which plays the guitar.

He is known for his hit song title SEND DOWN THE RAIN in his album prisoner of conscience which he released in the year 1988.The song became popular when Rain fell on the very day when the song was released and went to be nominated and likewise won awards.

He has worked with various artists worldwide, including Tracy Chapman, Jimmy Cliff, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg, and Beyoncé making him not just a normal local musician buy an international award winning musician.

Bob Marley and Fela Kuti are his mentors as he has continually stated and his songs are linked to those great musicians.
